Well, it isn't so much as stealth as the fact that it points out that you are an SL. If there are 6 guys charging at me without an Otus I have a 1:6 chance of targeting the SL. If I got 6 guys charging at me an there's an Otus deployed I got a 1:1 chance of aiming for the SL. No stealth in either case.
Also it provides a great rocket target. Yeah, I know you're behind that wall somewhere but with the Otus peeking out over the top I know you're right there. Again, no stealth since I knew someone's there it is just a matter of knowing exactly where ya are.
With that said I'm just poking fun at it. As a regular SM I find it the SL deployable that is useful to the squad in most situations. There are some cases where the beacon is better but they are rare and the SL needs to think of them ahead of time.

I would have to disagree with that. When that thing starts firing it usually draws a lot of attention. Maybe if the drone was a little stronger, but its just too easy to kill and since it hovers right over the body the enemy has a good line on you running for the revive. I know I have got a couple of kills that way.

Re: Otus V. Accipiter
The accipter is good at exactly one thing: giving people giggles. Sometimes guys need to giggle though, so sometimes accipiter is the ticket.

Re: Otus V. Accipiter
The Otus is where it is at for the SL, better intel > suppressive fire.
However, that said, I have heard that the accipter and the pulse meter unlock do work well together (I will stand to be corrected) if your looking for some fun with it.

Re: Otus V. Accipiter
Only time I've seen handy spanky use has been from extremely long range, when it suppresses me to put my head down until the firing stops.
I only die in it if I'm point blank range and user is dead when I get seen.
I always carry Otus nowdays, going behind big rock or wall that cover it from enemy sight, and then letting your SMs to spawn on you gives huge advantage. Or when you've in the end of recon rush and put it up and get own mini UAV thx to the oOtus + recon combo!
And yeah accipter is weak and vulnerable as big foorball flying over your head. If it starts firing its SL is either dead or in cover (thx to the 2 second boot-up time), so you can just shoot 3 easy shots in it and keep shooting that SL that though it would give him some cover!
Otus diamonds are bad only because they are always 2 seconds behind where I wanted them to be >.<

Re: Otus V. Accipiter
I personally prefer the Otus over the Accipiter. As previously stated, the Otus will produce the red triangles for enemies but everyone in your squad with the netbat unlock will also see the red triangles, even behind buildings. This is valuable for situation awareness.
The accipiter will lock on to a target with a red triangle, but since you chose the accipiter rather than the Otus, you are not creating red triangles any more, so you have to depend on someone to Q-Spot them. Hence, the accipiter seems to only work some of the time and why people generally don't like it.
This is why I prefer the Otus, it is more of a value to the squad than the Accipiter.
Otus fun:

Re: Otus V. Accipiter
Seriously...
WHY WOULD ANYONE BRING AN ACCIPITER?
What would you like more to bring to a War?
- X-Ray Goggles
or
- A Frisbee with a Garden Hose
