So the tip in the op is interesting. I'm not sure I knew that... Probably because I never climb down ladders. I just jump off the building. If I'm on a ladder and need to get down I just jump. Still an interesting tidbit

I worked on for a few minutes in Photoshop and it was kind of a shame to not be able to show it (I really like my mouse, although mine is black, not exactly like the one in the pic)

One reason I like it is it's really fast - if I'm in a really intense firefight where I'm moving, running around like crazy and such, switching weapons with the keyboard doesn't always happen as fast as I need it to. I switch to some things with the keyboard - 4 for the healthpak, 8 for my Otus drone, etc.

I could probably live with that, but I'd really miss all my buttons. And normally - unless I run out of ammo - I'm not switching weapons while I'm firing on guys (although right after I kill one or two, then it's time for a grenade). I love grenades : )

Although it bugs me to no end how it switches the keys around when I use the krylov - I was trying to revive a guy with rockets : |

heh good for you...everytime I try to jump off ladders my chute fails to open

so I stick to slides

To me, the most important button in the game is the VoIP key, so it's in the most accessible place: my mouse's thumb button. I honestly can't imagine playing with it located any other place. I can key it and keep it keyed without loosing any range of motion or impairing my actions in any way. But that's just me...

Welcome. The MX1000 was a great mouse. My RMB started failing to register a constant press a year or two ago so I relegated my MX1000 to productivity use where a constant RMB press isn't needed and purchased an MX Revolution. Stupid mistake as the MX Revolution is a great physical design but horrible for gaming or productivity work. *sigh*

You and me both. That has to be one of the dumbest things they did was make the secondary keys dependent on the primary weapon. It makes sense if they were unique attachments on the weapon but makes no sense when they aren't. When I kit switch for ammo and end up with a Krylov or even a SCAR* I curse not because of the weapon but because now I'm going to be ineffective at revives and rockets.

* - When your're out of ammo on your main weapon a beggar cannot be a chooser when it comes to a kit with ammo. A SCAR w/ammo is > any weapon without. I finished up one combat efficiency pin with a SCAR after my engie SMG was out of clips.

As a further side note to the tip in the original post (won't let me edit), pressing sprint+down while looking at the ladder or upwards will allow you to slide down as well.
