The Great Scar Debate
The Scar. Some hate it, some love it. What are it's strengths and weakness's? What is it good for? How can it be used most effectively?
This is not a guide, sorry to those looking for one.

Re: The Great Scar Debate
It's good to know when you are revived/reammo off a kit and get the SCAR. To be honest I don't think it is as bad as some people claim. I believe the was a post in the Baur topic that the SCAR is the gun of averages. It isn't the best in any given area but it isn't the worst, either. Because of this it will always be bested in certain situations by other guns.
On the other hand I have had the SCAR in my hands more than a few times in the past couple days' play. After using the Baur almost exclusively since I unlocked it the SCAR feels quite natural in short-to-midrange engagements. I certainly didn't pick it up and instantly think "Oh hell, I'm so dead." In fact in two cases I finished out a CEP with the majority of the kills needed going to the SCAR.
My only complaint, which goes for the Krylov as well, is that the $!@$!@# PKs and Defib are on the wrong number! Or that's a complaint against the Baur/Voss depending on your perspective.

Re: The Great Scar Debate
The SCAR11 is fantastic for finishing people off in close-midrange battles. While the Krylov has the higher RoF and is therefore better at killing targets at full health, the SCAR's harder hitting bullets are fantastic for running in and cleaning up the remainder of a damaged force, often 2-3 people at once. Strategic use of cover will net you easy upper torso / head shots and very dead enemies.
One thing the SCAR11 is absolutely useless for is long-range single shotting. It can be done, but you're better off using rockets or getting closer.
Also, the SCAR11 has great hip-fire and strafing accuracy, use this to your advantage when surprised by a Voss or Krylov.

Re: The Great Scar Debate
It's an AR, point it at people and fire in bursts, what gets you the kills isn't the gun but what you're doing yourself (good cover, flanking). Not much to say about it really other than pick up another AR when you have the chance.

Re: The Great Scar Debate
I see it only fit at burst: If guy pops a head behind the wall I have better change hitting him with my first bullet than with Baur for instance. And then why I don't use it: after the first bullets it looks like it the bullets start to fly around your target, so in 1on1 any proper player will kill ya with any other weapon (especially Krylov).

At first I thought you were talking about Lion King... Have no idea what I was thinking.
I like the Scar, good gun. Never really played this game enough to be fantastic at any single thing, though.

I started a new solider and have been forced to play with the scar. I hate the darn thing. I miss my krylov. Oops, I guess I'm an attention whore!

QFT. There isn't much to debate about since the SCAR gets outclassed by the other 3 assault rifles in the game.

QFA. Just because you have a different opinion doesn't mean you're right. I see people wreck with it in hundreds of videos, and I do well with it myself. You haters just don't want to take the time to master something you're not familiar with. I challenge you all to use only SCAR for 2 weeks straight and then give me a verdict.

Re: The Great Scar Debate
Kelvin I have a little over 29 hour played with the SCAR11 and yes there is no debate about it... In the right hand it can be seen as really good but thing is the guy using it would be better off using something else like the voss or the baur.
