    COs: Don't overuse sat track

So back in the day, I wrote a CO guide that still stands up to scrutiny pretty well, I think. But I said one thing that I think needs to be corrected:

Sat Track is the quickest to recharged asset you have, but that’s good because it should be your most used. Sat track is the thing that gives you battlefield awareness greater than anyone else. Use it to spot enemies coming up, preceding use of orbital strikes, looking for weak flags, deciding where to put a UAV, etc.
I completely disagree with myself now. You see, running a sat track takes a fair bit of time to run, and as many people don't realize, you cannot spot during this time. Sure, it'll make the sounds like you're spotting, but it won't actually spot. Spotting is perhaps the most important thing you do as a CO.

My suggestion is to limit your sattrack use as much as possible. In place of this, spot widely. In most maps, you can spot near back flags and see whether someone has gotten back there. The advantage of this is it only takes a fraction of a second, and you can get back to spotting everywhere else quickly.

There are uses for the sattrack, but they're limited. Of course, a great time for a sattrack is when you've accidentally got yourself banned for 30 seconds!

Something new for me here. Really nice to share this as I've been wondering this.

What I usually do in any case:
    1. Spot all the time, use supply drops and EMP / orbital (spotted) walkers
    2. Use sat-track, tell squads where enemy is going and where they are positioned atm, use orbital on positions that have huge amounts of enemy infantry
    3. Give particular squads assets that they have requested

Sattrack when UAV is is about to die so you have enemy positions ready when it dies to bridge the time till the next UAV.

Also you cant spot Gunships and Buggys that are manned with more than 1 guy

That's why I can never spot the APC, and my SL's are screaming at me to keep it spotted.. They wouldn't believe me!

I do not know about you, but when I sat track, I use the voice communication system to communicate the positions to the SLs. So, I think that is an option, but it is up to the commander to decide on what to do.
