Re: Retarded Divers :P
Yeah, #1 is.
Also, this may be a good palce to warn tell/anybody who can contact EA that there's a server called "FaF" which is a sniper/knife server that attracts many players because they have a low-gravity mod active, but is really just a way for the server owners and clan members to stat pad off the peple there-as the server somehow doesn't have punkbuster enabled and the admins all have aimbots. the server is practically a trap to gain lots of points for the owners.

Re: Lame? Dumb? Useless? Divers :P
Did we really have to name the thread "Retarded Divers"
One of our former admins had a mentally handicapped relative and was offended by this type of talk. I used to say it a lot, but even when I did I don't think I ever used it in this community of mature gamers.

Re: Knife Divers :P
People diving drives me nuts, I don't think one of them has ever actually gotten me, it's just so annoying. In fact it makes them really easy to either kill or knife them, which is very satisfying.

But TG doesn't kick people for dolphin diving, which I find so idiotic that it just can't really be put into words without making some 2142er mad.

I'm not sure. I've disabled the little message that pops up to tell you if a server is ranked or not.
Even if it's, not people should avoid it as it isn't going to help you be a better player in any way.

Dolphin dive: Space + Z
Dive: Z
If you do the above in TG servers you will be kicked for dolphin diving (to avoid fire ofcourse)

Re: Knife Divers :P
Hmm, I'm pretty sure I've seen regular TG players do that once or twice. An enemy and I see each other in a corridor, we both start shooting, and then he goes prone, which allows him to kill me, because (I think) he continues firing while going to prone and also throws my aim off.
Is this illegal?

Re: Knife Divers :P
Another clan called KMA is also a knife-only server where the admin warn for the weirdest reasons. An admin booted me for being a "maggot."

Going prone in order to avoid fire is allowed on TG, jumping to avoid is not.

Re: Knife Divers :P
it's usually enforced similarly to bunny hopping. If you jump+prone to get over a wall, for example, it's usually kosher. If you jump+prone just because that's the best way not to get shot, you're likely to earn yourself a warning/kick.
As for shooting while you go prone, I'm pretty sure for an instant, you can't fire.

Re: Knife Divers :P
I thought knife servers were illegal only if the admins enforce the "knife only" aspect. Isn't it against EA policy to restrict the equipment used on a ranked server, so kicking people for not using a knife would make the server again EA's rules?
The stat-padding explanation has alot of merit, but if that was the case, you think alot of the knife servers out there would've been shut down, or lost their ranked-ness already.

You assume that EA monitors 2142.
