If you do the above in TG servers you will be kicked for dolphin diving (to avoid fire ofcourse)
Mixa is correct, dophin diving isn't allowed on TG.

Putting it another way, dolphin diving is simply a type of bunnyhopping - by going prone after jumping. So it's the jumping part they are really breaking the rules for doing. You can bunnyhop without dolphin diving, but all dolphin diving is bunnyhopping.

Going prone mid gunfight, without jumping, isn't bunnyhopping or dolphin diving and is perfectly allowed.

Lol, exactly...as I said, EA won't bother following anything except latest releases. They can keep the money and manpower for making the new games better and keeping them up-to-date long enough until the next game. Either we stick it out with a relatively low supported game or we buy a new one...all it does is give us incentive to spend money. I suppose that's where subsription games have the advantage...

    A little off topic but----

If you spam dive+control to prone and get up really fast, is that that legal?
I've found it very hard and confusing to shoot at them.

I admit I do this, but it does seem pretty similar to bunny hopping. Going prone to avoid bullets is only natural. But to go prone then immediately get up like some sort of pushup drill? maybe not.

But anyway, I'm pretty sure it's legal.

    I call that the bunny-flop.

It's one thing if you do it ONCE, but to spam it over and over - I think that's awfully similar to bunny-hopping.

I can't imagine doing it more than once would be effective. Unlike bunny hopping, you can't really cover ground with it, and you can't really fire while doing it.

I do it for tactical realism. If someone ever started shooting at me you can bet I would be hitting the deck/diving for cover.

So dolphin-diving to avoid fire is illegal, but how about dolfin-diving to get behind cover. For example, someone starts shooting at you and you don't think you have a chance of winning an open firefight with them, so you "space-Z" to jump behind cover.
It doesn't seem that unrealitic to me, as in a real war you'd want to get behind something real fast.

    Playing BF2142 as:

    -{SXGr}- J0KerRr

    -{SXGr}- x^DeTeR

I'm always open for tips, tutorials and training in the gunship while online, just ask :)

Currently taking a break from MW2, but when I play its as:

    eXileD// DeTeR

Even if you don't consider that I only have 7 days played in the gunship I'm one of the best pilots in the game

I will always accept a 1v1, friendly or not

Yes I believe you're allowed to hit space if you're going for cover. I think they mean when you hit space to avoid bullets in a firefight.

There has been on ongoing discussion within the admin team in regard to "prone spamming," "bunny flopping," etc. For now I'm going to lock this thread until we have a resolution at which time we'll unlock the thread with our comments.
