Lambert Tips
(Random Aside: I know, the title "____ tips" has been overused =P)
On the relatively rare occasion that I try out Recon, I spend about equal time using the basic sniper rifles and this gun. Being an Assault medic most of the time, however, I find the Lambert to be rather difficult to use. Is it just a different "feel" compared to the regular Assault Rifles or is there a separate method in using it? Any advice is appreciated.

Re: Lambert Tips
In really close combat, the z button is your friend. Your crosshair doesn't get as big as the other guns

Re: Lambert Tips
Accuracy is very lacking in the Lambert at range. It decimates at CQC, even if you're not accurate, but even if it's 30m at you'll be very lucky to hit anything. Its really a self-defence kind of gun, a peashooter compared to the true assault rifles.

Re: Lambert Tips
I have about 9000 kills on the Lambert.
The sound makes it sound awesome but in reality it shoots really slow. You donīt chose the Lambert because itīs super awesome, you chose it because itīs either Lambert or one of those pesky Sniperrifles. In a streight fight you will usually lose against any Assault rifle but the Scar. The strengh of the Lambert is the deviation while moving. Even strafing left or right will not bring your crosshair totally out of control.

Re: Lambert Tips
In my time with the Lambert, my greatest strategy of success with it is to shoot at people that are looking at someone else.

I feel like many people here have forgotten about the ability to toggle the assault rifle and the Lambert between semiautomatic mode to automatic mode.
If you want to use a Lambert at range, you must use it on semiautomatic mode. I have successfully and repeatedly hit targets at long distance with the Lambert, even without the use of a stabilizer. Just the other night, during a round on shingle, I was at Dunes and was hitting targets (Mr. Anderson to be exact along with a few of his fellow squadmates) that were on the roof of Columns. I remember Anderson commenting on how somebody at Dunes must have been pissed at him... I do not suggest you make it a habit to hunt long distant prey with the Lambert, you will only draw sniper or rocket fire from the enemy soldiers... Hunt them only when you are cornered, which is what happened to me...
If you are going to be running around and most likely to run into enemy troops at close range, then keep the Lambert on fully automatic.

Re: Lambert Tips
This is going to sound dumb but, treat the Lambert as you would the engie's SMG. Close in, normally unzoomed, from the hip. The Lambert and SMGs have low recoil so it is easy to keep on target unscoped and moving. The downside is you need to keep it on target since it takes so much ammo to burn through the enemy. However the Lambert, unlike the SMGs, has a large clip. It is possible to burn through 2-3 undamaged enemies before reloading.

I second that.
@Besiege: actually I find the Voss t be more accurate at range, Lambert is best suited to Titan attack/defence and CQC maps.
Just FYI I'm not trying to hate on the Lambert, it's one of my best weapons, its just that there is a very specific time and location for it's use.

Re: Lambert Tips
Seconding the usefulness for only Titan attack/defense or CQB. That thing slaughters people if their back is turned or otherwise occupied. Combined with RDX and APM one good guy can hold off an impressive number of enemies running down your console corridors. On TG it won't get much use because of the emphasis on reviving people at all times. As long as you are close to an enemy it's a simple matter of point and shoot and hope you come out on top. I usually avoid confrontation unless I feel like I am within acceptable range.

Re: Lambert Tips
Yes I always use Carbine+APM+RDX in my titan, I get so many kills! As for long range...don't put it on single shot! Run away!

I typically will do better with a sniper rifle/pistol at close range...

Re: Lambert Tips
I love the lambert and find it quite easy to dispatch people in close range. Longer range, even on single shot its next to useless but what do you expect when your other option is a sniper rifle.
The lambert has little need to crouch when you shoot but zooming is often how I fire, rarely from the hip although that can be effective.
Lyra once again provides the most useful advice for this weapon.
