As a commander who had the apc and walker stay at crossroads the entire game while I frantically emp'ed and orbitalled the enemy armor to allow our INFANTRY to take Square and Outpost and the enemies' armor only to lose it all and the round, I have to agree with the premise of the thread: Please, oh please, armor move up and support your infantry. There just might be a capout win.

I usually find that the pilum overall is more effective against armor.

I would have to agree that if pac doesn't move quickly with apc and walker they have a tuff time.

Reaper and me take the APC on Berlin qite often. But if for example zhohar asks for a Pod express I won´t stay back like a wuss but deliver my cargo to crossroad.

Basically it all comes down to communication

What you do is...:
Commander orders 1/3 the team as engineers with mine bait, 1/3 as support, and 1/3 as medics with smoke.
Round starts
squad leaders jump into the APC
supports pull out supplies
engineers crazily throw mine bait
assault medics crazily throw smokes
the walker moves in, the APC makes a rush to the south fence and people (I quote Lyra here now) "and now you all of a sudden you POD OUT!...you abandon your APC, to confuse the enemy, to confuse their tactics, and you will look for Bomman..." nevermind that last part.
Then the squad leaders RUN RUN RUN to the flags and squad bomb the flags!
Other wise if that doesn't work, the APC is destroyed by motion mines and there goes the loss of precious tickets.

Exactly. Communication. Kind of limiting your communication if it's just you and reap in a squad isn't it? Locked APC squads don't really allow for the communication needed for a breakthrough does it?
