Re: Clever things and patterns -OR- how Lyra makes Zho angry:
Pattern: people chase wounded soldiers around corners.
if you are wounded, make a tactical retreat around a corner, right click to drop a nade then turn around and aim for them as they turn the corner chasing you. A few bullets will slow them up, then the nade finishes them off.
pattern: enemy sees you are reloading, they think they have a second and a half to gain the upper hand so they drop their guard and change position to gain upper hand.
When your reload animation starts, u duck behind cover, then pull out pistol and fire away as they move to a new position. This requires some twitch timing but it works plenty of times. This is best performed when you are behind cover to start with.

Re: Clever things and patterns -OR- how Lyra makes Zho angry:
On Gibraltar, infantry only, biggest map:
Pattern: The PAC soldier that spawns in the rocks tries to rush to central camp, ruins, or EU base.
Clever thing: spawn at toll station rather harbor, and wait for him.
Less action for you, sure, but stopping that rush is much more important, i think.
It can get trickier if he's a squad leader, so a 2-3 people squad defending toll might be a good idea.
I'm still amazed to be the only one to do this on public 64 player servers...it's like people never learn, or never care.
Because when i play PAC and have the lucky "rocks" spawn, if i pass the wall of fire on harbor, i'm almost sure i'll meet noone on the road.

Re: Clever things and patterns -OR- how Lyra makes Zho angry:
I played in a squad defending Toll 2-3 weeks ago on TG, had a blast. I went through a lot of APMs, spammed the commo rose "Need Ammo" a lot.
We didn't see as much action as the squads at Harbor, but I like the feeling of knowing that I helped stop 'em from getting past.
On not-TG Camp Gib maps, where there normally isn't as much coordination/specific SL orders, I always go recon at the start of the round, I'll usually get both buggies back to back with RDX.

Nope, just found your server, so my little experience comes mainly from public servers.
I've seen some conquest servers where players had some skill and teamplay, but generaly it's rather every man for himself.
Thanks for your answer, though, i realize i'm not that stupid ^^

Oh don´t get mad
I am 100% sure this wasn´t supposed to make you look stupid. Play on the TG server and you will feel the different. I can´t put in words how much different ( and in my opinion better ) this server is compared to public servers. If you play in a TG squad there will be never a situation where it is " every man for himself " but don´t listen to me, go and have a look yourself

Woo, a former 21st joining us again in the fray!
Pattern:
LordKelvin likes to kill me
Clever thing:
Bring extra gerbils
Pattern:
Belgrade. Pond->Comtower entrance. People will stay at the wall if engaged. If disengaged, people will try to attack comtower
Clever thing:
Engage. They see us on IDS. Place IDS. Place RDX. Disengage. They no longer see us. They advance. They ignore the black patches of dirt. They explodeWithout teamwork, you'll never survive.
Without betrayal you'll never win.

Re: Clever things and patterns -OR- how Lyra makes Zho angry:
Pattern: Over-reliance on IDS
Clever thing on Defence: Sniper decoy + good hiding spot + RDX on a chokepoint that enemy will think is clear since no-one shows up on IDS = Awesome upper hand.
Clever thing on Offence: Sniper decoy sneak. Not even necessarily sneaking past them, but try to go to a more lightly-defended area (people usually put IDS's at undefended areas thinking it is now suitably covered) and squad bomb when you're at the heart of their defence (or as close as you can get) to try and suddenly overwhelm the enemy, or at least create as much of a diversion as possible so your teammates can take advantage elsewhere.Anger is a gift - Malcolm X

I like those two alot, Shini! We are so reliant on our dependable IDS these days, good to create some added paranoia

Re: Clever things and patterns -OR- how Lyra makes Zho angry:
Pattern: Berlin - Playing the map....
Counter: Out of bound play. Pond, Com, Playground, Monorail can be camp by a out of bounds rush. You can also use it simply to get behind Ruins and Statue... Works perfectly on both side of the maps. Make sure you destroy the buggy afterward.
