Re: Killing Vehicles
Good pilot+accurate-with-TV-gunner+spot-loving-CO=armor b gone.

Playing BF2142 as:
-{SXGr}- J0KerRr
-{SXGr}- x^DeTeR
I'm always open for tips, tutorials and training in the gunship while online, just ask :)
Currently taking a break from MW2, but when I play its as:
eXileD// DeTeR
Even if you don't consider that I only have 7 days played in the gunship I'm one of the best pilots in the game
I will always accept a 1v1, friendly or not

Re: Killing Vehicles
Take it from one who knows. In my early days I would very often go on titan maps and spend the entire round with cloak and RDX being an anti-vehicle ninja (or so I thought). Since I've joined TG I've tried it a few times and it hasn't ended well. Part of the problem is that most TG pilots never stay in one spot for more than a few seconds.

Re: Killing Vehicles
That and at least 1 person has Active camo ID, so they spot you right when you're behind their tank, with nowhere else to go.
Hey everyone I'm trying to learn Greek, if anyone has any pointers please PM me!

Re: Killing Vehicles
Personally I think Engineers are the best option against enemy armor... but I also believe a good engineer is as uncommon as a good sniper -- lots of people can DO it, but only like 4% do it WELL in a squad, and seeing as engineer kits themselves are only taken 10% of the time, that means you have a very small chance of getting a good engineer @_@. Also, I think the EMP pads are often overlooked by on-foot engineers, they stop enemy vehicles and mess with the shielding for a brief time; and laying a minefield of appropriately spaced EMP pads can tie up enemy armor for a while, even if its not being destroyed. While hiding your motion mines is more effective than having them in the open, its even more effective to set them after you know a enemy vehicle is in the area (other than buggies), this way you can corral the enemy armor INTO your mines while he backs up/avoids you after you tag him once with your pilum and he pops his shields.
Saying engineers are not effective versus good 'TG' pilots, when you imply that the engineers are not as experienced in taking down vehicles as TG armor pilots are in using armor, is both an ineffective argumant and offensive to me. TG has many excellent players in all fields in BF2142, but its my understanding that this is not an elitist community; TG members are not infallible, even the excellent ones. The Engineer class's sole purpose is to deal with enemy vehicles, so it is outrageous to say that they're 'not effective'. /rant
I think that friendly armor squads are more of a deterant/distraction: good pilots can take a while to kill each other in armor, but the main bonus/drawback there is that the armor isn't killing infantry during that time.
Friendly Gunship = purty fireworks + <3
As for RDX recon... I would take it if available, but I'd never call it out mid game (if I have a recon with rdx already and no engineer, its all his, but if we're the usual assault/support, then someone is goin Engy for a bit)
Honestly, I think nearly every squad (on maps that include more than one piece of armor) should carry one Engineer with them. Engineers are not useless against infantry, the smg is a powerhouse in CQC... not as great as a shotty, but still better than a rifle IMO. And the Pilum is quite effective (and quite satisfying to use; especially against snipers) against mid-long range infantry, with practice.
Apologies if anyone takes offense to my second paragraph, but I felt it needed to be said.Good Luck. You're gonna need it ^_^

Re: Killing Vehicles
Other way around buddy, Tanks and APC are easier to take out with RDX... especially on huge armor maps because it allows demo recon to sneak up on some unsuspecting tank/apc thats taking out infantry from a distance fairly easily. Plus this is TG you are talking about, any smart person in a walker would know to keep moving at all times. Thats why i never go for a walker with RDX, always go engineer with that stuff. Unless you are lyra, Jengles or Sproge, nothing you can do in those situations. Keep working at it nonetheless

ps: Hellharry is not the guy you should practice on

Re: Killing Vehicles
Agreed with Cavall for the pads. Engi can only carry 2 things. Usualy it's a PDS and mine bait because you don't want to expose yourself to enemy fire while defusing mines with the hand defuser. But the mine bait cannot remove emp pads like the hand defuser would, therefore completely blocking the way for armor if there's a engi waiting around. And most of the time it will work on TG as member just step on it. The engi can take a shot, dropping the armor health around 50% (Unless you don't know how to aim :P), forcing the armor to at least fall back for repairs. You have two engis, the armor is dead basically.
One thing. If there's more then one engi. Use pilum/guided rocket combo. The guided rocket can track evading/retreating armor. Pilum got no track sound and more damage. Especially on walker legs.... I don't know why but that's the time I see the most difference. Pilum also have increase damage when wearing a skirt. Just like the Ganz and the Baur.
Grammar/spelling/karaoke errors --> Not my fault. French Canadian's fault.
