Explosive boxes?
I was recently on some random server (TG was empty D: ) and i was just messing arround as a recon when i noticed that there was about 5 guys camping right on an explosive box. So i shot it and go 5 kills, but then about 20 seconds later i got a message from an admin saying that i shouldn't have done that and i was kicked.
My question to you guys is is it in bad taste to kill a bunch of people in that way? I personally don't believe it is but i guess the admin who kicked me thought it was.

not at all!! I'll never forget, early on when I got killed by an exploding box. My SL said"be aware of what you're standing near!!" Lesson learned. 5 sweet kills for you, I say!

Ughh, what a lame admin.
The box kills are my favorite. I took a sniper shot once, and it hit the guy in the chest. So he was weaving and proning and crouching his way to cover, but one dodge took him right by an explosive barrel...so I just shot the barrel.
Barrels don't dodge, they're great for kills.

That is the whole reason why they are there, and why you should always destroy them if your team is defending/attacking near them.

hahaha what i love the most are when they actually go and hide behind the boxes for "cover" lol

A lot of times, I either seem to be the only one bothered, or the only one knowing to shoot them before defending e.g. Statue in Belgrade, and with that, I kill 1 or 2 teammates.
But did the admin give a reason why you were kicked? Or just that you shouldn't have done it? For those boxes are made to mass murder the other team, and I find it odd that you were kicked for that. (Unless of course you did something else that wasn't allowed and the admin was referring to that)

why do you blow them up for defense? it good to keep when youre defending a flag. only when attacking should you blow them up. you can easily kill a whole squad who attack the flag when ure defending and forget to blow them up

Don't forget to throw nades at the boxes too, not right at them but close enough to destroy it. This doubles the size of the explosion as the grenade will damage everything in its radius of effect and seperately so will the box.
If I have to pass by a box, it's gone. Never run by these barrels/boxes if you can help it.
Leave the other ones nearer the enemy as traps. If the box explodes watch that space, they're coming.......run awaaaaaayyyyyyy......

But if you're on flag first at statue-belgrade, it might be wise, for you'll be pelted by grenades and bullets over there. Originally Posted by Kwalc

That's exactly what they're there for. In fact you should be thinking how best to utilize them. I'm always upset when taking a flag at the beginning of a map and people blow them up. At that time they are no threat.
It goes hand in hand with deciding where to wait when capturing a flag. You should always be looking for a place with cover and our of range for explosives. A position that won't give you away when the first enemy spawns in at an unknown location to defend the flag you're taking.

You probably killed the admin or his buddies and he was being a sore loser.

Love that kind of admin...
A friend of mine got kicked for "bulk glitching" once (he was jut taking cover behind a "pillar" in titan hallway)
I have been kicked for using the Saaw on a server where admins liked to fly (but were not that good, since i had them)
Etc, etc...
Explosive boxes are not bad taste at all, i'd rather be ashamed of dying like tat (or laughing of it) than kick the guy who killed me.

If you can get a kill using the boxes, more power to you. There's nothing better than seeing someone get the drop on you only to have you blow up the box their squatting next to.
