Personal shield.
Just remembered this!
THere was a guy laid up in doorway that just fit his body. He had put up one of those red defense shields and was slaughtering people that tried to rush for the flag. Went on while i was standing there for a good 2 or 3 minutes (forver in assault time) until a tank came up and blasted him out of his sanctuary. Are those shields really that powerful? "Able to withstand short durations of direct, small and medium caliber fire, the IPS (Infantry Protection Shield) is a personnel-scaled, ion-charged shield employed by infantry for temporary individual protection. The system is not designed to withstand vehicle-mounted munitions."

nades are your friend. And supposedly you can shoot the tiny box in the center to destroy it. Might take a sniper to hit it though.

I don't get it. If he couldn't shoot through his own shield, then he had to be exposed to fire at everybody else.

You cannot shoot through your personal shield. It requires good positiong of the shield and yourself for it to be effective.

Exactly what shafik said.
I could not find a way to shoot through my personal shield. I tried every angle, getting as close as i could, no go. I usually angle my shield, plant my sentry bot next to it, giving me a small window to shoot out of. Would take a well placed sniper shot to hit me and I can mow down the opposition until they figure it out.

If a grenade falls on the outside of your shield will it destroy the shield? if so will you also take damage ?

oh yeah. pretty much the only thing you can expect the shield to protect you from is small arms fire. and by small arms, i mean bullets.
And it's not permanent, and only 1 per customer. So if you deploy one, wait about a minute and deploy another, the first one's gone.|TG-Irr| Boomer258

Meddler in a nice setup with the IPS. Once we dropped some meds and ammo behind the shield, we stayed there for quite a while.
Here's a First Person shot of the shield placement, in single player. Again, worked very well.

Excellent pics Shafik, thank you. I need to practice alot dropping that shield. So many times I end up tossing dropping it off the side of a tower opening, lol.

how did you get unlocks in SP? Seems like the bots have everything and i have to pick up their kits to get them. Is there a setting or something to get the unlocks?
