Re: Squad Leader Tactics
Be SL - get someone to EMP nade your drone - jump on - fly in the sky
Some people see it as "feature", some as "evil cheating abuse of the game mechanics".

Re: Squad Leader Tactics
Could you perhaps offer a more clear explanation of how to get on top of buildings, because the sniping oppurtunities actually are a mouth watering prospect.
What I understand doesn't appear to make sense:
1) You are a squad leader
2) You spawn a "2rd unlock recon drone" ( ? )
3) You somehow jump on it
4) Someone throws a grenade at you (actually at you? near you?)
5) You don't die, but instead appear to be transported to the top of a building - nice, or alternativley are given powers that enable you to fly around the map ( ???? )
6) You proceed to do this and get kicked
If someone could just clear this up for me that would be appreciated.

Re: Squad Leader Tactics
I do apologise, and appreciate that you don't want to encourage this abuse of the game physics nor turn this excellent thread about squad leader tactics into a guide for how to effectively cheat and piss people off.
However, I am still very intrigued by this alleged glitch and although I understand that you frown upon it, if you perhaps set up a new thread dealing with this one issue, underlining it, and making it unquestionably clear to players that on your server this is totally unacceptable, then that would be beneficial for not only me but for all who dare attempt such audacious antics. Moreover a thread like that reiterating your zero tolerance policy would be to the overall detriment of the cheating bastard online community.
Please I really wanna know how to do iiiiiiit

Re: Squad Leader Tactics
I totally agree,
My little brother was using a certain glitch to kill alot of people and I reported him and won't play with him anymore.
I think the only way the community can deal with this type of thing is not talk about how to do these things at all or even what people were doing and remove all posts with the instructions
we also have to come down really hard on anybody we see doing it and let them know that it is not cool and ruins the game for other people. (plus is it really any fun to cheat?)

Re: Squad Leader Tactics
Good for you kperkins, that is commendable.
I also agree this isn't the proper place to discuss blatant exploits, actually I would go as far to say that lyramion's post should be edited.

Re: Squad Leader Tactics
Even if someone explained in detail on how a bug was exploited here, I'd trust this community not to even use it but to reconize it and report it.

Re: Squad Leader Tactics

Thi is a great hiding place on Tunis, difficult for the enemy to find you and your guys can spawn on you. This has worked well for me but of course I've told you all about it now.

Re: Squad Leader Tactics
I just wanted to add to Silver's hidey-hole that it depends on the lighting settings as to whether or not that spot is effective. I just seem to remember that spot being rather easy to check for me because I use low lighting settings (to keep the fps up).

Re: Squad Leader Tactics
Last night I was advancing on a flag on an infantry map, i had one guy right next to me and 2 trying to catch up and two due to respawn. I ordered that we were advancing at walking pace. That way there's time for the two to catch up and the other two to spawn in. We hit the flag at full strength and together, so we took it easily.

Re: Squad Leader Tactics
for those of you that are kind of new to squad leading, I strongly suggest you check out silver's vids in the after aciton report section. he is an exemplary sqaud leader. you can learn a great deal from watching them. another thing you can do is get into squads with good sqaud leaders and pay close attention to how they lead your squad. try to emulate thier tactics and demeanor if you enjoy being in their sqaud, you will express it in your own style and eventualy become more confident.
imo, we need more peeps to step up and SL. im starting to see squads named, "fine" made with 10 seconds to spawn because no one else wanted to make a squad. if you are sort of new to sl and are not too confident, try it and ask for constructive criticism from your squadmates.
one thing you must do, it be decisive. when in doubt, ask the CO for orders and figure out a best way to implement them.

Re: Squad Leader Tactics
Yep Silvers vids really helped me (along with the squadplay.com ones) and I just started squad leading myself (since I kept annoying me on those SL's in pubbie servers who don't give orders) and you can find my squads under the name 'Tactics' or 'TG-E1st'
