I used the GANZ quite ALOT scince I unlocked it. I did just as well with it as with the regular ones, but it does feel a bit more sluggish while adquireing targets it also has a slower rate of fire than the regular ones. It does deal a bit more damage but is not great considering the slower ROF.

At long range I was able to snipe with it pretty well behind an IPS shield, on the field the trick is to crouch fast and just spray and release spray release. The reticule will stay pretty small and it won't overheat as fast. You just have to practice keeping your target while holding down Ctr+Shooting+Aiming.

My conclusion with it is that you can do just as good or better with the regular ones so do not bother with this upgrade unless you really really want it. Otherwise is not worth the point as it is right now, there is better things out there.

If you want to upgrade support then grab the Clark, that thing is a nightmare in a close fight. Is hard to miss with it and is a one shot kill at close range. Is great for titan fights or crowded choke points.

The aiming recticle on the Ganz is shaped that way for a reason. It's meant for titan defense (IMO.) If you aren't prone, the gun sucks. If you're set up and waiting (titan hallway,) it gains acc. faster, takes longer to overheat, and does more damage per shot then the stock LMG. Overall, I would consider it a wasted unlock though, as the stock LMG works great 90% of the time.

I like it. I don't want it for long-range stuff, as I get better results with the basic gun, but for mid-range defence I get great results.

After much experimenting with both I will stay with the regular one. The Ganz although a good gun does not compare to the regular. The little added extra damage is really not worth it.

So yes I believe is a wasted unlock.

I recommend refraining from unlocking the Ganz HMG. Though superior in close quarters combat, at long and most medium distance encounters, this weapon seems inferior to both the Bianchi and Shuko LMGs. Since the Ganz can be selected via a field upgrade for situational uses, you can use the saved unlock elsewhere in the customization of your soldier.

In my mind, the Ganz is without a doubt the worst unlock in the game. If you're goint to get a tier4 unlock with support, get the Clark shotgun.

2 words burst shooting. the balanced involved with this game makes every single aspect of the guns balanced with the other aspects so that all the main weapons (ie: lambert, voss, baur) are balanced with each other. The Ganz is also a very specilized weapon and must be used in conjuntion with other things such as squad members and/or a turret in order use it to its max functionality. At most ranges, if one burst fire it one should be able to utilize it effectively, reloading when the time is right. (in my experience it one of the best weapons to use in the titan corridors and in urban settings becuase you don't time to shoot many bullets on the enemies). The ROF for the other mgs however will probably prove to be better if you are able to have more time shooting the enemies or you are in CQB, whcih Torr pointed out. (the clark is only good in open cqb shooting fights, but the enemies are usually under some sort of cover for the titan, unless they suddenly have foolish delusion and run out into the shooting gallery.) When it comes to assaulting a point, there is no run and gun for any mg at all, its only run and get shot to death. You can't even stop for a second to aim and shoot (which what the mg requires to be effective or else its too inaccurate) or else you get killed after killing only 1 or 2 people (which i don't consider worth the risk). It is really only meant for support or farther ranged combat (if ur lucky you can get away with shooting a few knifers).

I regreated unlocking this. Its great in titan defense but not really worth the unlock. Keep it for a field upgrade.

I understand but the lmgs have a faster ttk ratio as you dont have to burst as much.

As I mentioned before, this was my first gun unlock and I have used it extensively, and believe me is not worth the unlock. Save it and use it to get something usefull like motion mines or rdx/apm mines.

The trick to the bianchi and the suko is not to use Z as the panic button. Simply crouch and aim at the chest. If a bullet doesn't hit the head then the rate of fire will take your target out regardless. Most often than not if they manage to shoot at you, you will come out on top.

The reticle on the ganz hoever takes a bit longer to close up when you crouch. The reticle closes a bit more than the regular ones if you shoot in long bursts and it doesn't over-heat as fast. But all in all I have not used this gun in quite a while.

The suko and bianchi get the job done alot better. Plus the bigger mag helps. Reloading LMGs takes a while so I tend to avoid it untill I have maybe 15-20 rounds left.

That's the key. This game is so fast paced that rarely does one have time to go prone and let the reticle close. Hence the crouch is the new prone, and therefore the Bianchi/Shuko is better than the Ganz in most situations.

I unlocked the Ganz first, and I completely regret that decision.

Its not a bad weapon, but it is way too situational to be worth the unlock (unless you have unlock points floating around you don't have a use for).

It makes me sad thinking of all those wasted points

Oh, man. I see there're pretty much those who unlocked Ganz first and regret that. If only we'd chosen the other weap... Why is it so? Is it marketing? Psychology trick?

I only went the Ganz route to get the sentry gun. I think it was worth it to have the sentry gun and emp grenades. Good thing I field unlocked the Ganz and tried it out instead of unlocking it permanently.

It was good fun mowing folks down with the LMG, I figured it would be jolly good fun mowing them down with an HMG

I find with the Hanz, you really have to use bursts of fire. I don't use it often (mainly cause I love the Art of Sniping) but when I do, i just don't zoom in, and burst fire.
