Re: Support weap unlock Ganz HMG - was it all worth it?

When I first unlocked the Ganz I didnt care for it mostly due to the sights and just used the default LMGs. After reading this I started using it again and now that i'm more experienced with the game I love it.

Negative. I can run and gun with it using crouch. The Ganz is made of win.

Re: Support weap unlock Ganz HMG - was it all worth it?

I love the Ganz. I don't have the patience to be a sniper, but I can get a kill 100 yards off easy. It's hard to dodge 25 bullets. That's the point, accuracy isn't really an issues as long as you get close. They'll run into your bullets for you. That said, a lot of people hate the gun because they hit Z and start firing and that makes your accuracy go to ****. Just crouch and you'll be fine. It's a pretty good gun for close quarters as long as you know what its limitations and let them come to you. Use surprise over quickness

I've been surprised a few times with the Ganz in close quarters, now I want to find out, "How did they do that?"

I guess the trick is to pre-heat the gun then run around like Rambo, no?

No, get in close and fill your reticle with their head, then fill their head with lead.

The ganz is definitely worth it. I don't use the stock LMGs too often, but I still do. They're better for runnin' n gunnin', if you ask me, if you aren't close quarters... then I'd go for the clark. Clark is also good for vehicle people.

Yep! I saw the perfect example of how NOT to use the Ganz in close quarters yesterday; I went around a corner and ran into someone with another Ganz and just as my first round left my barrel towards his head the guy went prone. DON'T DO THAT!!! I don't care how close you are, never go prone with the Ganz unless you are setting up a fixed position. Aim high and get close and you can't go wrong.

Re: Support weap unlock Ganz HMG - was it all worth it?

Wait, you mean the other guy was stupid, right?

I'm assuming so, and really when you're that close, who thinks to kneel instead of diving to the ground like an idiot? Exactly. And don't get me started on those people who hit the prone key whenever they encounter the enemy, BF2 instincts or no. But that's not relavent, is it? (unless you want to hear me rant about the stupidity of diving/rolling and firing accurately)

I find that if I run into an enemy in close and I've got my Ganz, crouching helps. It makes you a smaller target, although at point-blank that's not really important unless the guy's aim is terrible. Try to aim for his chest with your initial rounds and then sweep your aim towards his head, using recoil as your friend. Of course, you can also aim for his head right off and fight recoil by dragging your aim down. No matter what, don't stop shooting until someone is dead on the floor.

Best weapon in my profile. I tend to call it the lawn-mower. I got more kills from that weapon then any other. It's personal choice and how you play. Your really can't ask if it's worth it becasue your likes differ from everyone elses.

Agreed, but in my personal situation, I also waited a long time to get the Ganz a while back, and its the only unlock I really regret.

The Ganz is just plain nasty. It's the only weapon I fear when sniping from medium range.

Re: Support weap unlock Ganz HMG - was it all worth it?

I personally hate the Ganz but mainly because the accuracy just plain sucks on the damn thing. Because I'm a sniper almost all the time the amazing amount of misses I happen to get with the Ganz is ridiculus the gun overheats before I could kill the guy I'm aiming at.

It was then that I swore that I will never use the Ganz.

But on the other hand the HMG is like the damn Grim Reaper in close quarters.

Ganz = Great big SMILE on my face. IMHO the best weapon in the game. I have put a lot of time into every weapon, but this is a gift from heaven, a weapon from hell, someone said lawnmower! YES send in the infantry and the Ganz chews em up and keeps on eating.

very nice, i totally agree

The ganz's main advantage is 10 more damager per shot. it does mow down faster.
i also believe it has the same or less recoil. the ganz sounds similar to the baur actually
