Gunship TV Missle
Haven't seen a post about this yet, apologies if there's been one already.
Had a chance to practice with the TV missile last night by setting the gunship down on top of building right near the edge of the building (was much harder to position than BF2). You have to get the ship almost to the tipping point to give the missile clearance room. Placed an ammo crate down next to the ship and started firing away at trees and other buildings.
It took me about 5 missiles before I figured out that the thing works very differently than in BF2. In BF2 each click would reposition the missile, moving the mouse without clicking did nothing. In 2142, the missile will track wherever you put the crosshairs, no clicking! The second you move the mouse after firing, that's the direction the missile will fly.
With this new understanding and a bit of brain re-wiring I was actually able to hit something later in game. It's still very sensitive and tough, but I think with practice, we'll start seeing more TV missiles hitting their mark.

I don't like it, it is far too sensitive and difficult to hit stuff.

aparently if you map your joystick to it, it makes it super easy. Have not tried it out myself however.

Thanks for the post. I was clicking away thinking to myself this is impossibly hard. Now at least I'll be using the correct controls when I miss things.

I'm glad air power is not overpowering, but I think they went a wee bit too far.
Lowering the lock-on range of AA and making the TV missle easier to fly (not raising damage) would do wonders.

Re: Gunship TV Missle
I think the anti infantry gun on the gunship is awsome deadly. Though that is mostly from being on the recieving end

Short of occasional battlewalker I have never noticed armor to be much of a problem yet. Even on vehicle heavy maps, there is enough AT unlocks out there that a tank or walker that get's close usualy eats a mine or something very quicklike.
My point I guess, is that the gunship is not the primadonna of armor killing like it was in BF2, and with heavier infantry focus overall, maybe the pilot/copilot should focus on anti infantry strafing runs or something?

i wish that they would have made the missles for tanks an Air i mean common its the future where all about multi uses! my microwave is my TV! an luv mech!
like the PC i teach my kids with it an alos serves as my .... nevermind
point is the air support seems unpractical to me TVG might as well aim it straight the first timean just watch it try an hit an mabie at the last second change the direction
IMHO they need another flyer one thats ment to be one mutha BAD ASS
an when u hear its screaming engines you will know oh hell its tenbears! cover cover cover!

Re: Gunship TV Missle
the TV missile is alot of fun to play with, but its not very good its very hard to aim with and a fraction of a inch is a miss. Also why when you hit a walker right inbetween the legs on the ground dosent it atleast knock it over i mean come on..
