Help stop the Le Mans rush: Your Ideas
What can we do to get rid of the Le Mans (race car event where drivers make a mad dash to get their vehicle) start that is at the beginning of every round?
You know what I mean. Many players at the start of a round spawn and jump in the nearest vehicle and head off to go capture and defend a flag or silo by themselves - great idea! I know everyone has seen those players speed off in an empty APC, tank, buggy and air-transport. Having any vehicle half-full does not benefit anybody. It can be frustrating and lack of coordination hurts the team. I have been gulity of this myself so I'm trying to retrain myself for when the rounds starts.
Here's what I propose:
1) Everyone but the squad leader hold your spawn at the start of a round. It is the squad leaders responability to let the squad know when to spawn.
2) The squad leader should be the one to find transport.
3) Once the squad leader finds a vehicle, the squad can be told to spawn.
4) The squad leader will make sure that every squad member has transport.
5) If the squad leader cannot secure a vehicle for the whole squad he can coordinate how to get to the objective.
I think this will accomplish a few things:
1) Establish order rather than the chaos that ensues at the start of a round. Instead of 24 players rushing for vehicles we can have say 5 or 6 squad leaders spawning and securing their squads transport.
2) The vehicles will all be full of players.

Great ideas!
Another thing squad members can do is wait at the round start. Don't even wait for the go ahead from the SL. Spawn in whenever you notice the SL is in a vehicle. Ensure your squad leader has secured transport before spawning. It'll minimize comm traffic and if the vehicle is full then it'll reflect in the inability to spawn on SL. Either way works tho.

I pretty much do this every round.
Probably look like a jerk to everyone else though, speeding off in the buggy by myself, while my squad holds spawn.
I hear the cries of "I need a ride" and sometimes a few friendly bullets zing past my head, but I am a race car driver and every second counts!

even then someones walking cause unless its a armor map their isnt enough transports to go around
plus on maps like camp t you dont have time to piddle foot around you needa throw some nitro on the buggies and go lightspeed and break though before mines get placed

Re: Help stop the Le Mans rush: Your Ideas
That's what I try to do and what most of the SLs in the squads I have been in try as well.
But now, don't we have to worry about those squads that aren't composed of regulars? I know most of those squads each try to take a vehicle to themselves each at the beginning. The "Le Mans" rush has left my squads left to walk a lot of times...really sucks.
