Re: Help Your Squad Leader Help You
I have been using the spot key a lot lately but the problem with this is, most people are too selfish and want the kill, instead of letting the squad know and assist you. They think they can get 6 kills by attacking an enemy squad solo, but normally that ends up as 1 extra death.

Re: Help Your Squad Leader Help You
I have been known to do this. It's not intentional, but sometimes I'll find myself trapped with an entire squad. I'll usually report it asap, and start looking for retreat. Often retreat is not possible without being detected and blasted away, so, I call for support, and try to last as long as possible without dying (I generally get 3 to 4 kills before my squad arrives or I die).
Also, I love to hear chatter on the VOIP. I get a few good laughs from you guys, but there is a time for joking and a time for combat. Experienced TG members are pretty good about doing this, but many of you newer members don't quite get it yet (myself included at times).umm... hello?

Re: Help Your Squad Leader Help You
I agree with this. The other day I was squad leading on Belgrade, defending Statue. We had a very vocal commander, kept giving orders, but it was hard to hear what he was saying over two particular squad members (no names mentioned) arguing about some crap.
Some chatter is ok, but not too much.

Re: Help Your Squad Leader Help You
Exactly. You can also do things like harass them if it doesn't lead to you being killed. One such example: In the past, I've led an entire squad away from a CP they were guarding. I would take a potshot at them, run like hell, take a potshot, run like hell. This has always led to one of two things; 1) They run into my squad, who is running towards me while I scream like a little girl, 2) They continue to chase me, leaving the CP undefended, allowing my (or another) squad to recap the CP, and I simply fall back to a friendly CP where I have friends waiting for the chasing squad.

If the odds are too high to attempt harassment of an enemy squad, simply sit tight or fall back.
Also, even though it has been mentioned before, I can't stress this enough. SPOT SPOT SPOT!!! People spotting someone who is about to shoot/knife/teabag me has saved my digital life more than I can count, and team mates who neglect to spot cost their team mates their digital lives.
Even though it's not a popular subject, a recon sniper can be invaluable as a spotter in a squad. You have that fancy scope. You have the "Q" key. USE THEM. Keep an eye out for that nasty tank or walker that (if it gets close enough) will blow your squad to smithereens. For example, I act as an extra set of eyes to our squad when I play recon sniper, supplementing the commander (he has other squads to watch out for too.) You see something, point it out before you start shooting, even if it's infantry. It could be a guy with a rocket who is waiting for your squad to get nice and tightly packed together while capping a CP, or it could be the aforementioned tank that you now (thankfully) just gave the heads up to the engineer in your squad, who now has time to prep for it and send a Pilum up their rear (or front.)
