    Gunships and Capping Objectives

    WHY?

Anyone join a public server and say to themselves, 'Hey, i kinda wanna get some flying experience in.' So you hop in the gunner seat, pilot goes, tries capping a flag, and because hes both not moving, and not paying attention to anything but the capture meter, he gets reamed by the enemy gunship, Anti air from another objective/ground unit/walker/tank/apc/enemy transport and ya both die?

(sorry, seen other talk about getting things off their chest)

The gunship is a weapon! Its not a solid vehicle for capping whatevers. Its designed to be flown around blowing crap up!!! You can tactfully use the gunship to clear infantry out of areas.. flying slowly, carefully, and having your gunner take them out before they blow you away.

As a rule of my own, I feel the gunship should not be staying still for longer than 5-10 seconds.. after that, your done for.

On Minsk, however, in Conquest, more PAC players should use that helo to cap flags.

I can't stand when the person uses it for its intended purposes. On Minsk, they should be different. Cap flags, then kill tanks.

By the way, the big secret about flying a gunship is that the "back" button (default S) is for hovering mode, not reducing the throttle.

I wonder if there is any decent gunship piloting guide.

Doubt it, its funny that thats how it works in the gunship, but the air transport, its backwards, holding back throttles down, and not pressing anything hovers.

Never played Minsk on Conquest... but i was more referring to Titan gameplay.

Oh, Titan, OK, you said flags. You should run through Minsk on Conquest if just for the frustration.

I just realized this the other day. I was wondering why I wasn't descending.

Very True. A few times before I've parked the gunship around a corner of a very nearby building and capped the flag and just when a few guys were running toward the flag I ran around the corner and got in the turret view and it was pretty damn funny when they all came running around the corner - pretty much a meat grinding session.
