I've learned to use default "G" to pickup there kit to see if they have the defibrillator. Then if they do, after reviving them I just pick my kit back up. In a tight situation where you are being shot at and stuff this might not work very effectiveley because it takes up about 4 seconds if your doing it right. I just wanted to put this tactic out because I hate having a defibrillator and seeing people run by my dead body when I have 8 seconds left till i respawn. Expecially when it is on the enemy titan or something, or I'm dead cause of a team-kill.

Worked for me many times, hope it helps you!

Actually, this won't work like you mentioned. If you pick up their kit then you can't retake your kit because the person you revived will have your old kit on them. This, actually, is a pretty big 'whoops' situation if you're the SL because now you're suddenly without a spawn beacon and you have to hope you can poach one from a dead kit or your squad member takes a bullet to the head so you can reclaim your old one. The later not really being a good Squad leader mindset to find yourself in.

It should probably be noted that anyone and everyone can carry drones and beacons on them and should probably do so even if you're not a squad leader. That way if a squad leader poaches your kit they'll have a beacon they can deploy or have resupplied and not accidentally find themselves unspawnable or unable to deploy a beacon because someone ran off with their kit.

As I end up SLing a lot, it happens quite a bit that someone in the squad will trade kits to get me up, but I'm then stuck without my SL equipment. I will make it a point to advise squad members to include SL equipment of some sort when they compose their kits.

Re: Assault Kit Guide Part 1: The Revive

Anyone ever have trouble reviving someone if any part of their body is "clipped" through a wall or barrier? Is there a trick to pulling off a revive when this happens or is the soldier out of luck?

It doesn't seem like they're "killed" either because they sit there the whole 15 seconds (instead of disappearing) while I hopelessly try every angle, applying zaps to every conceivable part of their body.

If their body has, for whatever reason, decided to poke into a piece of the environment, then they're unrevivable, even if they aren't "killed". This can help you do triage if you come upon a pile of bodies.

Re: Assault Kit Guide Part 1: The Revive

This explains why I've seen guys apparently just run past what I thought was a corpse, and the guy jumps up and takes off. I didn't know about the increased range on the defib in 2142! See, I've just registered and already I know 2 great new things about 2142 that I have never heard elsewhere. As a veteran old-man Uber n00b (at age 48 I don't have the fast-twitch any more, but I'm meaner and more cunning, LOL) I need all the inside info I can get....

Re: Assault Kit Guide Part 1: The Revive

Hi all,

I don't post much but avidly read everything possible since I just started playing BF everyones posts are very helpful and appreciated. I have read everything and practiced in single mode a lot reviving my teammates. The good thing about offline mode is you can kill you own teammates and keep reviiving them for practice!!

My question-

I have done everything suggested and still have a difficult time reviving people. I have tried aiming for the head, for there chest ect. I don't hump the corpse anymore. On occasion my revive works flawlessly the first try. When it's working right I get pins ect. I have tried waiting for the head gear to disappear you name it. Can anyone tell me what the issue might be.

I have noticed that in the game people are sometimes trying to revive a different spot then where I see the corpse. Maybe this is it!!

Any inkling of help no mater how remote might help. I have a extremely fast computer and good DSL connection and my ping is normally shown as 30 to 50.

More aggravating then someone not reviving you is trying like hell to revive someone 1-2-3 times and getting killed everytime because you don't want everyone to think your not a teamplayer.

Anyone with a Asus A8N32SLI-DELUXE Moutherboard , FX-60 AMD Processor, with 2 gigs ram and a 7900 GT xxx Nvidia card or close, which cares to share there in game/out of game settings would be greatly appriciated. This is really my next step unless anyone can help another way.

Re: Assault Kit Guide Part 1: The Revive

If you can attend today's "training" session (referenced in the General Discussion), maybe you can sort out the issue? I usually just sprint at the body, flop down a couple meters away, defib the torso, then back up and sprint away in some direction.

Re: Assault Kit Guide Part 1: The Revive

Ok I figiured something out and I feel pretty dumb but here it goes!!

Number one important part about reviving!!!!!

You have to have the circle with the plus sign on the body to revive everytime!!!

I did some testing and it pretty much works everytime as long as you have the circle above the wrist or ankle of the victim. Even standing up at a full run with a momentary pause. Laying down as well.

Anyway, I'm not sure if this was mentioned before or not but hopefully it will help out some nubbies like myself.

I'm not sure about the circle with the plus sign on the body, but I've gotten pretty good at performing run-by revives. I usually squad voip "Combat revive" then do a running revive and keep on trucking past the freshly awakened teammate.

Selective Rezzing is so critical for any good medic. The number of times someone has run into a hail of fire to 'save' me, only to have us both dead a second after he shocks me...

I'd like to practice the unexpected revive, up and about thing because too often I am getting caught waiting for the respawn. Are there any practice sessions with this being done?

Maybe this can be practiced at TGU this comming Friday. I'll stay after the events and work with you on this personally if you want. I'd like to think I have the fastest defib this side of the mississippi.

Re: Assault Kit Guide Part 1: The Revive

one thing I do as medic is a countdown timer in my head the second i see a teamate fall. 15 seconds is a LONG time. you dont need to revive them at once, keep a mental note of how long each person has before they respawn, and if you need it that info, ask over voip. revive squadmates first, and then good guns next. dont risk anything for a noob. as squadleader, announce you are down and give a warning at 5 seconds so the medic can rush in at all costs for revive (assuming the sqaudleader is your spawnpoint and you need them alive.
