On of the best places for the SAAW is on Titan Suez Canal. Place yourself atop one of those tall landing pads and shoot down all the transports. I personally love that gun because its so effective. But LuckyStrike's idea of getting the SAAW as a field upgrade is good (so long as the server isn't crap teamwork).

I don't know if it is just me but I could not lock on to a dropship with the SAAW. Gunship is totally fine, I own them in every single encounter but I never get a tone on dropship. It gotta be a bug.
