Re: No beacon? Get over it!
Not using the beacon can be helpful in some instances during a titan game. If the titans are next to each other, it's just as simple to pod over instead of using a beacon. If the SL is alive, you can spawn on him and be directly inside the titan instead of podding down into possible external defenses.

Re: No beacon? Get over it!
I find the biggest misuse of the beacon is when a squad gets beaten back and keeps podding in in ones and twos to attack the defenders. They don't make any headway, and if they just waited to regroup they would have a much better chance.

Re: No beacon? Get over it!
I would like to clarify this.. If a SL drops the beacon then it is destroyed then no one can spawn on him till he is either resupplied or dies and comes back.. is this correct?
I am pretty sure this is correct but I want to make sure. If this is the case then I would rather the SL keep his beacon in most cases. I know there are situations/tactics where it is useful but in most cases I want folks to respawn on SL.. so we can regroup and attack/defend together... the beacon is usually tucked away from the action and if we are dying sporadically then we are separated and we are not as strong as we are in a group but if you are forced to spawn on SL then we are constantly grouped up...

Heheh, yep. Of course, if you're drinking, you can turn almost anything into a drinking game.
On the topic of the Bacon, I'm reminded of this little gem: Tactics are determined by terrain and situation. I probably paraphrased, but you get the idea. Some maps, and even then certain times on the maps will 'require' you to use the beacon, or perhaps the Odus, although I don't think the Accipiter is ever a 'requirement'.
