Often I'll TK from this, but I think they understand the reasoning behind it so they forgive. Good thing too.
Is this considered suicide tactics? It seems very much so. However, "core-jihading" may be necessary in some situations when the core room is well defended.

Suiciding and achieving TK's is extreme though. Suicide tactics is such a touchy issue here that I think strictly following the rules is less confusing.

Yeah, but I don't just do it all the time, like when we control the enemy core room and either our shields are up or we are doing good with silos and Titan D. Then, I'll try VERY hard not to TK, but some idiots (pubbies, almost exclusively) do core-jihad and it's annoying because it's not neccessary. I do it when I see it as vital that we blow that core right freaking now! Sometimes, actually often I'll be revived after I do the deed, grab more ammo if the core is still up and repeat, or just run if we won and the titan is going boom.

I've also been in situations where someone ninjas my RDX placement to steal a core kill from me so I don't believe the kill can be shared.

Ah well. I need to play more Titan.
I'm pretty sure it's a constant --> 5 packs RDX = 25% damage to Titan
I've been in the core room by myself plenty of times and it took me 4 times of RDX'ing and getting re-supplied before the titan was blown up.

a tale of two servers

I think that if you are teamkilled by rdx in the core room and punish you should be deballed with a rusty ice cream scoop.

I've been in a squad with 3 people, with me blowing the core, 1 support giving ammo and defending the back side of the room where people come out of the sheild, and one medic defending from the cargo bay and reviving us,

we blew the core in maybe 45 seconds against probrobly 10 people that were constantly running into our apms and machine guns trying to get us out of the core.

(tg server by the way)

now on another server (public)

I was in the core room with 7 people total. 3-4 were shooting the core with support guns and not givng the rdx guys ammo, and the other 3 were constantly running into apm mines like 5 times in a row. I placed rdx on the core, and typed out "GET OUT OF THE WAY OF THE CORE"

I ran behind the shield and after a few seconds blew the core, I got 4 teamkills and (again, public server) 4 punishes. Just then, a whole enemy squad ran in and wiped us out, we never got back in and they blew our core.

I literally threw my wireless mouse across the room. The batteries flew out and i couldn't play anymore because I couldn't find them, which was good because I think if something like that happened again i would have had a breakdown.

So I guess I better start taking anger management classes because public servers are always gonna be like this. Or, maybe I'll just play on good servers from now on. whew

On the Core Assault beeing a Medic or Supporter the Hub placement can be critical with all the RDX around! Here are 2 images I made some time ago to make it clear for everyone. The hubs range are quite far and will reach people behind the wall that fondle the core.
