I dont know why, but the knife is actually like a primary weapon for me.

Re: Put Your Knife Away and Take The Kill
It's a common mistake to be too close to the person when knifing them. The knife killzone starts at about 1 foot away from you to 3 feet. You don't want to be so close you are touching the guy or too far away.
I see people doing this with the defibs as well. Lying right on top of the body. The defibs have a long range, though I think there minimum distance is less. Having said that I teamkilled someone today who chose to ineffectively slash away at an enemy hiding at our flag. The flag was super hot. I aimed and the guy jumped on the enemy and started swinging away. I gave him about 2 swipes that he missed before trying to take the enemy out and ended up taking them both out.

Re: Put Your Knife Away and Take The Kill
That must be why I miss so much. I'm too close! I sneak up on snipers all the time and pretty much kneel on top of them and still don't get the kill. I end up getting killed or pulling out my pistol.

Re: Put Your Knife Away and Take The Kill
I only use knife when im out of pistol ammo or someone 'challenges' me to a knife fight.
Still, sometimes, that one sniper you finally found after it shot you so many times, can be really really waiting to be knifed by you. Still, the ranges at which I see people run at me with a knife is indeed silly.

Re: Put Your Knife Away and Take The Kill
What used to be great back when the server had more smacktards and morons on it, was when badly wounded I'd whip out my knife and then the other guy did too, obviously thinking "Aha! I shall do my duty by discarding my assault rifle-o-death and fight this chum with knives and fisticuffs, the gentleman's way!" At which point I'd pop out my rifle and cap the guy in the head... good times, good times.
Unfortunately it doesn't work anymore. The knife is actually a tremendously effective close quarter weapon when used correctly. If I'm fighting someone and they duck for cover inside a small nook, or behind a pillar, or anywhere which doesn't afford them much room, I pull out my knife, approach the corner and round it crouched. One quick knife slash and they're down, and I can save my precious grenade and rocket ammo for another time. ![]() |

Re: Put Your Knife Away and Take The Kill
Its amazing how bad some peoples aims are when your charging straight at them. Pretty funny.

Re: Put Your Knife Away and Take The Kill
the knife is seriously underrated.
I love the rush of knifing someone when they miss all their ammo, they deserve to die :P.Although I won't steal kills from someone with ar.I am happy to take over a knife fight if my tm died |

Re: Put Your Knife Away and Take The Kill
I've got like 10 knife kills or something like that, all of them CO. I usually then proceed to squat thier face. If a commander isn't keeping his eye open for people in his own base, he deserves to die.

Re: Put Your Knife Away and Take The Kill
Last night, someone was able to leap at me from 3 meters out, go prone, and kill me by knifing my ankles. That just made me depressed.

Re: Put Your Knife Away and Take The Kill
The knife leapers really tick me off, mostly because I've never been able to do it. But since I get the Clark as my usual first field upgrade now I have a lot less problem with it.

Re: Put Your Knife Away and Take The Kill
If you guys really want to learn how to knife like a pro, join a knifing server. They are lots of fun when everyone plays by the rules and you learn the limitations of the knife while also increasing your ability to be aware of your surroundings.
