Re: How to Avoid Annoying Your Team Mates

Big one for knowing how to avoid your commander:
Dont spam requests.

When I command, and someone asks for something, I try to give it to them as fast as possible. If its not available, I'll let them know over voice or teamchat that its not up and when it will be. The SL's that bug me are the ones that keep spamming even after i've told them that. Heres how it plays out:

[SL1]: Requesting Supplies!
[Comm over voice]: Supplies unavailable for 30 seconds, hang tight.
[SL1]: Requesting Supplies!
[SL1]: Requesting Supplies!
[Comm over chat]: Supplies are not available for 30 seconds. Hold on.
[SL1]: We need supplies over here!
[SL1]: Requesting Supplies!
[SL1]: Requesting Supplies!

It gets old. As a commander, you're using limited assets with respawn times. Generally speaking, I dont go more than about 5 seconds at a time without utilizing my comm assets. I run sat track constantly when my UAV isnt up and I drop arty every chance I get. Remember, that with the exception of sat-track, which is insanely fast to regenerate, theres anywhere from 30 seconds to well over a minute after I deploy things that theyre unavailable.

Bottom line: if you're a squad leader and you want something, pay attention to the what the commander tells you.

One day I had a bad day and was grumpy and a commander kept flying around. Every time he died he'd wait for the gunship to re spawn and take off. The whole server was in a out rage over this; he had multiple warnings with no response and was not commanding at all. So I hopped in our AA and shot him down the next time he took off. I know this was wrong, but it just pissed me off to no end.

I don't have to tell you this was bad Boulder Next time find me or follow the after hours reporting procedure that Bomm has in a sticky. If I am online, I'll deal with his sorry a$$.

lol, roger that. This is actually the reason I appreciate the after hours reporting because this incident was about a week before it was implemented. Forgive me TG, for I have sinned......

Yeah, I bet that would get annoying... especially since SL's can... you know... *see* what's available

Yeah I hate that too sometimes when even AFTER I send them the box you see it on the map zoomed in and he requests for another one!

Re: How to Avoid Annoying Your Team Mates

Or when SL's request supplies on the move. I had a guy last night when I was commanding on berlin that ONLY requested supplies when he was running from one flag to another. When he was stationary and holding a flag, he actually yelled at me for dropping him a crate because apparently it "gave away (his) position", as if the flag being ours all of a sudden didnt do that anyway.

Something to add to the APC mortars:
If you can hit the canopy of a gunship, you could kill the gunner/pilot.
This has happened to me many times, when I would be flying low against an apc and get hit, or get hit by a emp/mortar combo. The mortars seem to penetrate the glass.

U can take out walkers with the rifle rockets but u don't have enough ammo for them so u all ways need a support guy near u.

This was actually discussed very recently here.

It's funny that you would post this in the thread titled "How to Avoid Annoying Your Team Mates" becuase if you were shooting at a walker with your rockets while standing close to me I would be somewhat annoyed. The rocket only does one damage each to the walker and it will most likely cause him to whip around and kill us both. You are probably better off running to the closest Railgun or finding an Engie kit laying around. Just my 2 cents.

Don't sneek up on your commander and make knife noises as I assume this is annoying to the person on the receiving end... sorry

yeah, that really bugs me, if they just held down 't' for a little longer and observe their screen.....

Although, I DO enjoy dropping the supply crate for them when they're still, and watching it glide gently down to tenderise the annoying SOB..

Re: How to Avoid Annoying Your Team Mates

This is all excellent advice. One thought however - my copy of the game, purchased new of course, did not include any instructions on how to play the game. I assume this is the case for all of you. I learned by experimenting with the game and, sadly, pissing people off. Fortunately, I'm not THAT guy anymore.

Good to see TG is doing some training. Love the teamwork.

Re: How to Avoid Annoying Your Team Mates

Use with care, great care:

I sometimes use PK Rocket against a Walker. I will take GOOD cover a bit away from my squad and make them land. It sure only does 4 damage but you will attract its attention. Usually a bad thing but if you chose your cover wisely you will survive while saving other teammates who lack cover from their death. If like 5 people would land 4 Rockets... thats 20 damage already for the poor walker.... RUN! haha
