Well... As long as the thread has already been revived (CLEAR!)...

I ordinarily don't use a spot in my kit for smoke 'nades, but a buddy of mine (who usually SLs) will sometimes, especially in camp Gib., have the whole squad spawn Assault with smokes and preferred second item. Then, everyone chucks a smoke up the hill, re arms another and repeats, then we charge through. It works surprisingly well, and has only failed us once. Of course, this may be because it is a widely unused tactic, and people are not familiar with how to counter it, and we only use it once per round. Any way, it is a fairly good tactic that would be impossible without the 'smokes.

Imagine, though, a COD2 style smoke grenade effect. That would do the work of the whole squad's 'nades, and more. That thing could devastate, and make the smoke grenade a worthwhile piece of equipment, even (situationally here, I'm not trying to start an argument) more so than AR rockets.

what everyone is failing to do is read the label on the smoke grenades. they clearly say laughing gas, in large bold print. this of course causes your opponents and teammates to laugh so hard that they lose focus on the game allowing the prepared user to rush in through the smoke. that's the true reason why they work.
