Not solely chaf3d, but that is where it works best. I've seen it deployed with good results else where, but Titan is where it is constistently useful.

I would use a shield but I love my scan thungy to much, and a shotgun works IPS shield I have found

/ Kills the person befopre they kill you, soyou take less damage

It depends on who you are up against. On Suez canal at the silo under the bridge, there is a really dark little area where you can setup the ips sheild and waste noobies all day.

Problem is, anybody that sees that big neon red sign in front of your face is gonna kill you.

I believe that if the enemy knows where you are you are already dead. I'd rather not have people see me.

In the titan hallways i get tripped by these things that my teammates place and get killed more often than not. Plus, you always seem to find these things in the darn blue corridor which is always full up of like 8 idiots defending.

A much better corridor defence (in my opinion) is rdx/apm mines.

RDX and APM tend to teamkill like crazy on Titans, especially if you are on the assaulting team going for the core. The RDX packs laid on the core and then blow can wipe like 10 people.

the only reason that you should be close enough to the core to get teamkilled by rdx is if you are planting rdx yourself. Otherwise, shooting it with guns, throwing grenades.... is all a waste of time, and you could better spend your time defending the recon guys and holding the core room.

A good recon should make sure nobody is in the blast radius, but at the same time, if I wait several seconds and say on voip that i'm blowing it and people are hanging around the core shooting it with assualt rifles and the enemy comes in, I'm gonna blow it. (providing that wouldn't teamkill so many people that we'd lose the core room making my efforts useless)

I'll admit though, that I've seen some pretty crazy use of rdx before where multiple people died because somebody got overzealous.

I used the IPS shield and the A12 as a trap once on another server. I set up the shield and put the A12 right behind a corner. The enemy just ran up to see them selfs with a face full of bullets. I watch a few of the kills from a bit away.

But really I think they should change the shield. Make it blast through on one side or make it bigger. Something...
