Re: The Recon in your Squad and the Otus Drone
Oooohh Xprmnt's evil mind is already pondering the chaos he can cause with his Otus.

Re: The Recon in your Squad and the Otus Drone
00h noozz. Here comes Xprmnt with his troop finding, pds beeping, diamond drawing otus of doom! Of course, he just rockets me anyways.
I'm hoping to test the recon + otus in combination with a support sentry later today. I do recall using the gun drone out with a pulsemeter scan before and having it fire off at newly aquired netbat diamonds.

Re: The Recon in your Squad and the Otus Drone
I've never liked sniping but I'll play recon now that I have the carbine. The netbat/carbine/APM/stealth recon kit is fun to play and it helps your squad.

Re: The Recon in your Squad and the Otus Drone
Thanks for the info on this class / equipment combo. I've taken up squad leading more lately as a recon, and the mini UAV type of effect this gives off complements my style much more so than the beacon.

I too have found going recon as a SLer with the Otus very nice. Playing on a TG server I can count on someone else to go medic (my old standard kit) to revive me when I go down.
I have noticed since this thread has been up, I have seen alot more Otus drones floating over people too. Perhaps Lyramion was silly for sharing this super info, now everyone knows where everyone is. UAV or not.

Re: The Recon in your Squad and the Otus Drone
Oh yeah! .... dam... Revark was right! I WAS ALL WRONG - Recon in your Squad is total waste of time. Dont do it - never!
The Otus sure helps so much when you have some very skilled commander that keeps the enemy positions secret so the squads can have more fun getting knifed.

Blah! I never said recon was useless anyways, it is my second most played kit, even before the Otus.
As I said before, at least I can admit when I am wrong. Not everyone can say the same.
Edit: I dont think Lyramion will ever let me live this down. *sigh*

Re: The Recon in your Squad and the Otus Drone
Yeah sure you "admit" it after 3 Squads of Recon surounded you and forced the thruth out of your mouth!
Actually I didnt intend to be poking you with it till forever. You be forgiven now.
I have a certain feeling that everyone gonna know each others positions anyway after the Booster hit us.

Re: The Recon in your Squad and the Otus Drone
I watched an Otus drone float by me earlier covered with a medic hub and an ammo crate on top, and a PDS stuck to the bottom. I'm not sure how well that works out, but it sure was amusing

I recall seeing a squad member crouching on Orca's drone in one of his videos, and I've heard of throwing the PDS on there, but I never thought to throw crates down on it. Sentry turret on the gun drone anyone?

Re: The Recon in your Squad and the Otus Drone
It's true though - there are plenty more Otus drones flying about these days. I think it's a sign that SL's are getting very confident that they can rely on their squad members to keep them alive and are safe to bring an extra asset to the front line. It shows that the 2142 community here is truly tightened up and we are bringing the teamplay we're famous for.

Re: The Recon in your Squad and the Otus Drone
True. It's more like a suicidial robot than a useful tool now; it kills itself all the time (two hits against walls = death) but I don't know if it still kills the SL. This is because I made it a habit since patch 1.20 that I look up if I deploy it
