Question: Commander and Snipers
You are the commander. You got one annoying bug(sniper) that keeps landing on your assets and distroying one or 2. What do you do?
Do you leave your map screen to take care of him? He's a easy target and you know where he is. But you lose time commanding your troops and that can lead to a importent flag lost or a breakthrough at a choke point.
Or
Do you pull a vet squad out of holding and kill this guy so you can command the rest of the troops and they waste time traking this guy while they could have racked up 20 kills doing something else?
Or
What I think is best but you need a good squad leader with trained solders. Fireteam or partner system to take out the threat. This might take to long to get a squad to decided who goes and to get there the sniper might already be gone.
What would you do?The soldier formerly known as, Eroak.

Re: Question: Commander and snpiers
I would probably kill him myself. I would do it while my UAV, EMP strike, Orbital are charging. Of course I would have just done a sat track so I know right where he is. Most of the time he will be so busy trying to take out and asset that he wont see you coming. It will only take a few seconds to take him out and be back to your CO screen.

Re: Question: Commander and snpiers
kill him myself if it's just the one guy. The commander is important, but the truth is that 30 seconds away from the command screen is unimportant compared to the firepower you lose if you assign someone else to do your dirty work.

Re: Question: Commander and snpiers
I am better at commanding then I am at ground pounding, so I ask a squad to have one or two guys come take care of him.
When you can't run, you walk. When you can't walk, you crawl and when you can't do that, you get someone to carry you.

Re: Question: Commander and snpiers
I've killed one once by dropping a supply crate on them....by accident, as I was trying to repair an asset.

Re: Question: Commander and snpiers
Kill him myself, the squads and fireteams have much more important things to tend to. If he is destroying assests then you will not neccasarily have to worry about them recharging, on the other hand...if you drop supplies he can re-arm and heal himself without taking anything from his commander. The other option is to ask an Sl to have 1 person spawn at the main and help you.

Re: Question: Commander and snpiers
Kill him myself. He won't have the advantage of UAV and unless he has a really nice commander he is essentially running blind. Makes it easy to come up behind him and drop him quickly.
Also helps if you boobytrap your assests with APMs/sentries/etc.

Re: Question: Commander and snpiers
A recon for APM defense on assets would be a good idea. Usually if I know I'm commanding, I have been going Engineer so as to be ready to repair any assets. Lorax, the recon or Support kits you mentioned would be better options - I would try going Recon and setting some APM's around.

Re: Question: Commander and snpiers
it depends on the map, but usually i go engineer in case i need to make some repairs. If I'm playing Berlin on defense I tend to go assault.
