Temporarily disabling an enemy Squad Beacon

Temporarily disabling an enemy Squad Beacon:

Quite simple yet genius - throw an Ammo or Medhub right onto it. The game will tell the Beacon the sky isnt clear and wont allow anyone else to spawn till you kill the hub or replace it.

Good to annoy enemy SLs to take their spawn ability while not having to watch the Beacon for Pods.

LOL, that's brilliant! I would NEVER think of that ! It's a nice idea because the squad can't spawn and the SL can't plant another beacon. I think it's kinda cheap, though. So I don't think I'm gonna use it but it's cool you found it out (I assume).

Oh, I always thought you needed to pick up the old beacon to place a new one.. Maybe I should take the Beacon with me more. (Otus ftw)

There is nothing cheap about blocking the beacon. In reality, it's no different to destroying it. If a SL can't spawn on his beacon, it's the same as if it's been destroyed. He tells his squad to hold spawn and waits until he can deploy another to get rid of the blocked one. If he wants his squad to be able to spawn on him, he can just pick up his beacon again.

All you need is a SL who understands how the system works. Of course, if you have a green SL, you can annoy him pretty well with this tactic
    Dear Bommando,

please consult your local Medic. Tell him the new Ritalin cure isnt working out and it hinders your abilities on the Battlefield

You can indeed resupply a new Beacon but if the old one is still active it will just idle in your hands if you try to deploy it. It would be great if the old one is destroyed but it doesnt work. Other items like the Decoy, Scanners, Sentryguns and Shields can be easily resupplied and replaced by putting down a new one.

    More Medihub fun:

You can place a Hub right into the sight of a Titan Anti Air Gun and the the vision of the Gunner

    Recipe for breakfast:
    -Block bacon with hub.
    -Recon lays RDX.
    -Unblock hub.
-(hopefully) Whole squad spawns immediately on bacon.
    -(hopefully) Recon earns six points.

A SL could put some Beacon into enemy territory and put his Hub on it - so no puby spawns till he wants them to

That sounds a little heartless. Sure it may seem like a good idea if you're losing by a bunch of points, but to me, it seems like I wouldn't want that to happen to me, so I wont do it to them.

Call me crazy, but I like to show my skills face to face with my enemy, not by thinking of cheap ways to earn points or gain an unfair advantage. (and trust me, in 1v1, you're going down)
    umm... hello?

Wouldnt that be considered exploitive and therefore against the rules? Hmmm...

There are plenty of things on the battlefield that give you an "unfair" advantage. Deploying a sentry gun or laying down APM mines are all ways of indirectly attacking your enemy yet none of them are heartless. They are just obstacles that you need to overcome on the battlefield. In this case, if the squad wants their ability to spawn on a beacon back, they will have to fight their way to it and destroy it.

Tsuoz: In my opinion you're using a game mechanic in a way it was not intended. That's an exploit, not a "tactic".

Guess what? My "tactic" is riding OTUS drones into the sky! WHEE! Look at my tactic, everyone!
