Motion Mine....Infantry killer?
As you might have guessed, because I am the author this is another sniper topic, but it will be relevant to most of you.
Motions mines are great, they collect around choke points because they are highly effective against armor and SL love em. I LOVE THEM. Did you know they explode (unlike RDX) when you shoot them with the Zeller? Turns out that they are a lot easier to shoot, just sitting there on the ground like a good little target, than the infantry sprinting by them. If they are relatively close, it mine will take the soldier out (beautiful)…its easy to get a feel for.
Quirk note: I do not get credited for the kill when I do this. I’d like to test it so see if the engineer does.
Quirk/Exploit note: I hate do admit it, but since I don’t get credit for the kill. I’ve found it a good way to execute d-bag teammates without them knowing or racking up negative points.
Separate/wonderful note: APM mines explode when you shoot them too! I enjoy placing obvious APM mines for the sheer joy of seeing people go crouch or prone so get by them. I like to wait till they are ALMOST there, and then detonate the mine with a bullet.
Point of this topic…….watch out, the battlefield is a dangerous place. And this way snipers don’t need to worry about revives (I think).Shhhh I'm being made

Re: Motion Mine....Infantry killer?
If you kill infantry with any mine they're still revivable, I've hit quite a few as they were placing them down. I've never managed to hit one in their hands but I suspect it doesn't explode under those circumstances.
It's also a great way to surprise enemy vehicles if they're sitting on a friendly mine field.

Re: Motion Mine....Infantry killer?
please dont use this to kill undesirable teamates as you suggested in quirk 2. I understand the temptation. just dont.
of course every once in a while, I point my revive just far enough away from crux so that he does not get revived. i move around the body and just keep missing him. then i drop a med pack on his corpse and run away. :P

Re: Motion Mine....Infantry killer?
Yea, I doubt very seriously that the mine would explode while it was in an engineers hand. But now that you've put the idea in my head, I'll definatly waste more rounds than I probably should giving it a try.
Also, yea...my Tking days ended the day I met up with TG, no TKING (I don't care how mean bommando has been to you!!!!) I dont wanna be known for throwing out these sort of tactics.Shhhh I'm being made

Re: Motion Mine....Infantry killer?
I also noticed that the explosion the motion mines create when triggered by motion mine bait kills too (I think it was unreviveable, not sure), when I tried this I was really close to the bait, though so I don't know if it's really useful or not.

Re: Motion Mine....Infantry killer?
I can confirm that the engineer who laid the mine will receive credit (or TK) for the kill. A certain person who shall remain unnamed asked me to throw out a motion mine at my feet, whereupon he detonated it with a Zeller, and I received TKs for him, a squad member, and a suicide.
I always thought you could destroy even RDX with a Zeller, though. I've blown up just about every other deployable explosive at least once.

Re: Motion Mine....Infantry killer?
You can destroy RDX but it does not explode and kill all your teammates. such a waste of good explosives.

Re: Motion Mine....Infantry killer?
Yea, RDX just blips out (no noise, no boom, nothing).....exactly like it would in real life. It's the special Zeller alternate universe teleportation round.

Re: Motion Mine....Infantry killer?
The best thing would be if you could shoot it and make it roll in a particular direction, simply for those situations where a clever tank driver will sit just out of range of the MM's and tank-snipe. A few well placed bullets to make it roll his way would probably do the trick.

Re: Motion Mine....Infantry killer?
you can also take out apm's with c4; just put it behind the apm and detonate

Re: Motion Mine....Infantry killer?
Please confirm if motion mine bait takes out apms / rdx - I understand clever usage of this bait can clean out infested areas - but I havent tried it.
