    I admit, I have not read this entire 6 page thread. But I thought this was as good a place as any to say this...

    I LOATHE being emp'd.

    I think this is quite possibly the worst thing that could happen to me in game. Even worse than being TK'd in armor!

    I am a fond user of EMP grenades, as well as the pulse, so I give a squad a dose of LSD, and then show them the buisness end of my Clark. ( I remember this one time on Berlin when I emp'd a squad holding that corridor left of the crossroads flag. This one guy stared at me a few seconds before deciding to fire. By then, it was too late. He was now able to breathe through 12 more holes on his body.)

    But the Stunlock...oh the Stunlock...

    With it I have rendered walkers, tanks, and APCs as statues, as useful as a piece of decorative sculpture . The stunlock is a useful tactic when your squad are running like babies from a walker and a tank. Although you will probably died, you will rest in pieces knowing that you gave your squad time to escape. And if there's an engy on your squad, then that vehicle will be blown to bits.

    I'll probably replace the pulsemeter for the IDS later on, but I'll always keep the EMP close to me.

    Just wanted to add a quick add on to this about the emp rocket from the turret/gunner position in the walker. If you are in the second position of the walker, feel free to help out your driver by trying to emp dudes and especially other armor. It is very hard to aim the rocket (if at all), but even trying at close enough distances can sometimes give you and the driver a good advantage in a walker duel if the other walker/armor is hit with the emp. Oh, and one other thing. .. protect your teams' walker by emp mining all inroads into where your teams walker is residing.. it stops annoying C4 jihaders and passing buggies.

    C4 Jihaders are best countered with a tool given to all players on TG servers. Its called 'the wrath of god' and its invoked upon them very easily.

    "REPORTING <name> FOR JIHAD JEEPING/SUICIDE TACTICS"

    BAM! Lightning strikes the jeep driver and they get Warned/Kicked/Banned by admins. Not sure if the walker AA rocket is EMP based anyways. I think only the AA turret has AA rockets and the walker AA seat is a mounted SAAW launcher.
    My sanity is not in question...
    It was a confirmed casualty some time ago.

    I wish I had the BR file for that round a couple of days ago -- the one where I EMP'd the walker on Toll Station and you blew it to pieces with RDX.

    EMP grenades are indeed amazing walker-killers. My only support kit nowadays consists of EMP, IDS, and Clark/Ganz. It's really fun to see a bunch of assault and support guys locking it down and whittling away at it with vent shots. A swarm of ants bringing down a great spider, or something. I'm bad with words.


    Off-topic, but where can I learn more about the Radar grenades mentioned earlier? It's one of the 3 items I have not yet unlocked (other two are the Ghost and SLRPU) and haven't played around with them much.

    Well the problem comes down to distance. There's a comfort zone for stunlock that if the Walker is outside of, your grenades will have such a long delay between stuns that it'll be able to move (albeit slowly). You then have to move closer, generally putting yourself in position to be smeared (and then you're no good at all).

    Obstacles also factor into this, as an arcing EMP throw takes far longer to hit than a direct which, again, means they can just drive away.

    I always try to get an EMP nade onto walkers if I can, regardless of distance. Even if it's only the one hit I get, it's better than letting that thing chew up my comrades! I also always hope there's an engineer nearby that can take advantage and hit them precious legs. Even if it retreats and heals back up the rest of the team that are waiting to spawn and get revenge on their tormentor.....well at least one of them has GOT to come back engineer, haven't they? When the walker comes back (they always do) we'll be more ready. EMP 'nades can buy you that time needed to set up a defence before that walker and the supporting troops can push you from your flag.

    I have EMP locked walker at rediculus distances. The distance itself does NOT matter - it is keeping the stream of EMPs up. Having the 3rd Grenade and advanced hub unlocked is a MUST tho.

    That makes no sense. I don't have the third grenade, so maybe it's a timing issue. Maybe you can stunlock, but you're actually depleting faster than you're reloading, so it can't be sustained indefinitely like it can at close ranges? But with two grenades and the advanced hub, by myself, it's simply impossible to keep a constant stun up at longer ranges. It just takes the grenades too damn long in-flight, and if I throw any faster, I end up switched to my rifle.

    With two ammo hubs, sure, but one? I don't believe it.

    Yes one Ammo hub.The third grenade sort of prevents you switching to the rifle - maybe you get resupplied faster, too.


    But its definetly possible to completly stunlock an enemy vehicle anywhere in range of your EMPs - which is very far.
