The EMP Grenade

The EMP Grenade is a simple Level 1 unlock of the Support Class. Basically even a first time player can unlock them with a Field Unlock. But unlike the IPS Shield this Unlock should not be forgotten after you got higher on the Unlock tree.
Equipable Support Slots:
EMP Grenade
IPS Shield
Pulsemeter
Sentry Turrent
Clark RDX
IDS Scanner
While EMP Grenades might seem rather useless or not worth it when you play solo rambo - its a priceless tool in Squadplay.
----------------------------------
As Support player you should
always equip one Wallhack item.
A blind Squad is a dead Squad - easily flanked and infiltrated.
Often your Squadleader might use a Beacon or his Otus blows up regularly or he might be dead or you might be assigned to a 3 man fire team to do a task outside of the Otus range - I guess you see the point. The IDS does a supreme job on Defense while the Pulsemeter is a tool for Assaulting since its range is bigger and you dont have to put it down every 5 steps.
----------------------------------
The Clark RDX Shotgun is very fun but just a mere toy. It doesnt wield any nice Bonus for Squadplay - especially if you have 4 Rocket Assaultmedics in your Squad. The IPS Shield only has a few uses. Mostly to block off ladders and Titan corridors.
----------------------------------
Sure your Sentry turrent might detect one enemy and give you a fine kill. While in the next 2 minutes your whole Squad will get suppressed or even worse annihilated by a lonely enemy Walker.
I love the Sentry Turrent really. You can set up some nice crossfire traps with it. Lure the enemies fire to your Sentry while you come around the Corner and kill them easily. It hurt a bit inside to give up the Turrent but in a full Squad working together its uses will dimmish.
----------------------------------
Finally we come back to our EMP Grenade.
Stunlock an enemy Vehicle
The most popular use for EMP Grenades. Put down a Supplybox to your feet and keep throwing EMP Grenades on an enemy vehicle. If you score direct hits it will be unable to move forward or backward and be unable to move any weapon turrents. The enemy soldiers will only be able to fire their weapons or exit the vehicle. So if you are not standing infront of the guns the enemy vehicle has no chance to ever kill you.
Your own Supplybox will give yourself
unlimited Ammo. The only chance it will run out of Ammo is when you have your Teammates leeching Ammo out of it while you are busy keeping your stunlock up.
When you have someone in your Squad using the Stunlock dont think like "Cool the Walker is out of the game - lets forget about it".
A) Give Cover to your Supporter. Watch his back, secure the building, suppress the enemy. Because the enemy sure will notice the Stunlock and try hard to make the Support who is just turning their expensive Vehicle into a piece of modern art into their No.1 target. There is always a chance a Gunner or passengers will exit the vehicle - so make sure those people die fast and hard.
B) DO not teabag the Supports Ammohub. If you stand over it and continue to fire your Rockets in all directions his hub will soon be empty and go poof. A chance for the enemy Vehicle to get away and come back to turn your whole Squad into a piece of psychedelic street art.
C) Kill the enemy vehicle. Sure looking at the whole mess is fun but you should try to kill it asap. Have a Recon with RDX in your Squad or an Engineer - COOL you WIN! But often that might not be the case. Try to get to the next railgun. Look for Engineer kits of Passengers and Gunners that exited the Vehicle and died.

Seriously - I am sick of having two Supports in my Squads that rub their Sentry Turrents clean and attach "Hello Kitty" stickers to them while outside the Walker forces our Squad to hide into the most dirty corners you can ever imagine.

Scramble the Enemies Vision or LSD for everyone
If you EMP someone it will completely erease their Crosshair and their Laserpointer dots. Additionally they will get the nice LSD effects. As a nice Bonus the LSD status will also affect the Minimap - making tactical decisions harder for enemy Squadleaders - while having their Otus eat dust meanwhile.
While close quater combat should prove no problem any ranged combat is severely hindered. When a whole enemy squad is charging your position you can really rise your odds by just one lonely EMP grenade.
The radius of the EMP Grenade is rather big and they also have no timer for explosion. That means you can throw them further than any Frag would ever fly. The EMP Grenade additionally will ignore any form of cover as long as the targets is within the radius of the EMP. Even if you die and get revived - you cannot escape the effect of still beeing EMPd.
Using the EMP Grenades as Anti Infantry Weapon needs a bit of practise and an eye for the situation but I began to really like it. EMP the Sniper behind that crate over there and there is no way he will headshot you while your Bianchi Bullets give him a new haircut.
