Re: Commander's Guide v2.0

*Do you have the ammount of time it takes for each asset to charge up, that would be very useful.

*How about some tips on defending back bases for EU defence. eg placing RDX on flag or placing ids.

*Also great spots to hide whilst commanding.

you don't have to put these in if you don't want, looking forward to your vid.

It would be unwise, therefore, to try and capture an extra base if it'll cost you dearly in tickets to get and won't earn you anything else. Often times having just one flag while defending in an assault map can be a good thing as the enemy will waste itself by trying to grab the last outpost. But on the other hand, in a head-to-head map, the bleed can be essential.
Here lately it seems that everyone is wanting to push out of the Toll Station on camp G to take back the harbor. I have yet to see it work. All I have seen is the opposing team winning because people keep dieing. However, everytime when the team actually stays and defends toll we almost always win.

Re: Commander's Guide v2.0

well, that's probably good advice, but there's only bleed when EU holds Harbor as well as all the other flags.

My video software is broken. It crashes whenever I try to extract a clip from one of the captured videos. Until I can get it fixed I'm out of business.

Good luck fixing it, I would really like to see a commander video.

I remember one Sat Track bug before the 1.25 patch that the enemies commander assets would come up as red dots.
Nice going Dice.

If you have the time and things aren't going to collaspe into total chaos in the next few seconds then hoof it to the armor and drive it up to a squad so they can make use of it. Resist the urge to pop off a few shots in anything except self defense because you are better serving your team by jumping out and making the long walk back to your rear position.
You might end up getting reported for this on our server.

Re: Commander's Guide v2.0

The best thing to do is pick a squad that is not fully engaged and tell them to bring up the armor. Or inform the squads that Armor is at the main and not being used.

Very true the only time as CO I'd go in armour would be to take out an asset destroyer.

Re: Commander's Guide v2.0

As a CO, I believe that it is important to make sure that the squad leaders are aware of the bigger picture. I do not perform a "running commentary", but rather give my squads "Situation Updates" wherein I inform them of the general tide of battle (particularly during sat-track updates). I have found, from my studies of history, that squad leaders/lieutenants who are aware of the role they play in battle and how that role fits in to the "big picture" are more effective in battle and, in general, are better able to make snap judgments that can often turn the tide of the battle in favor of their team.

Re: Commander's Guide v2.0

FPSADD (or more accurately FPSADHD for First Person Shooter Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is in reference to how players will lose interest if there is a lack of action and then abandon position to seek out a conflict. You don't see it much on TG servers because we keep a very tight reign on commands and our SLs keep a nice pace and activity, but if you're sitting guarding a crucial rearward position and you're not getting any action occasionally a few people will run out into the open in order to score some kills.

Example: Toll Station defense wandering out to attack Harbor when strategically speaking its a lot easier to bunker down and repel attacks than it is to take back the harbor flag.

To put it simply FPSADHD is the "Oooh! Gun shots and explosions! Lets go check it out!" affect on people who should be manning a defense.
