Perhaps a more appropriate way of keeping the conversation closed would have been to go back and edit, or better yet delete, the post you left one minute prior to this one...

Thankfully I don't make my decisions based on your judgment of what is and isn't appropriate.

On topic, another thing that can be done is to have the entire squad hold spawn, and come in all at once. If there's only a couple of guys doing the camping, you can overwhelm them pretty quickly and easily.

Yeah, good point. You get a second or two to survey the area around the beacon while podding in, so might as well make use of it. Instead of steering, perhaps people can take mental notes on the way (straight) down so they know exactly what they're going to do when they hit the ground.

well, more than even lacking situational awareness when you pod in, you can't really do anything when you immediately land. you're a pretty easy target to take down if they can fire on you within a second of you landing.

The SL should call for 'hold spawn' as soon as he realizes the beacon is camped. There may be a few SM's who don't get the message in time and come down one more time. While unfortunate, this can also be used by an observant SL.

SM's in the squad can make use of the few seconds of situational awareness they do have while coming down in the pod. Even if they die, their momentary contact reports can be pieced together by the SL so he knows where to direct his squad's fire when they're ready to drop.

Once ready, SL orders a 'squad bomb' (everyone spawn at same instant) and a rally point (examples "building north of our beacon", or "boxes southwest of Square"). Six people coming down at once should be able to kill a few of the campers.

The important part is the rally point. Surviving squad members can get to the rally point, get under cover and return fire. Medics can revive anyone who didn't survive the first drop.

you can spot while in the beacon by marking enemy locations on the map just as you can when you are on the ground in combat. you can also place a move order.

sc1ences original answer is still by far the best one. How do you break a camped beacon? Steer your pod. You don't need a special mouse to steer fairly far either, even at low sensitivity. Aim for a rooftop, pop off a few nades or rockets at your would-be campers then jump down. Otherwise you can try to steer to put some piece of geometry in between you and your enemy such as a building or wall, that way it gives you a chance to clear your pod debris before you have to worry about incoming fire.

This is all excellent advice, thank you.

I've run into 2 indestructible beacons in the last few days. Has anyone else run across this? Both times, I shot it with a shotgun quite a few times and even put a half clip of a pistol into it. Ended up putting a crate of supplies over it to stop them from spawning.

Oh. Duh. I forgot that you can cover them to make them useless. Actually, that could turn out to be a pretty great advantage since they won't be able to break it either, and can't spawn on SL until it's gone.

The SL can still pick it up. I've never actually seen an indestructable SL beacon, but I have seen (or rather not-seen) a beacon that i could not hear and could not see, and yet, there were people continually podding in).
    umm... hello?

    Re: Breaking A Camped SLSB

The very first indestructible beacon I saw was on top of a titan, back in my most noobish of noob days. I knew vaguely what they were, and one of my SL's (I was our commander, and I shudder, knowing now what I didn't know then) asked me to break it since I was the only one on the titan. I found my way up there and unloaded clip after clip into it. My only thought now is that it was possibly sunk part way into the titan, or the shield somehow protected it.
