Squad Leader + Otus Drone + IDS = Golden

Slap that IDS on the Otus and you have an automatic 360 degree pulse meter with minimap revealing capabilities that follows you where ever you go.

Ganz + IDS + EMP Grenades + Otus is a VERY nice SL kit since you'll be resorting to your 5 'meat missiles' in your sqaud to do your dirty work for you.
Every time I fire up the ole WAFLTIME squad, this is what I'm running. To me, this is the Rocket/Defib combo for Support (doubly so when you're SL'ing.)

If you want to get really crazy, sub the Dystek for the EMP nades, and roll triple scan, make one of your guys take a recon kit and watch the diamond parade.

This seems like a good opportunity to ask about the 'phantom signals'. Where you see a diamond and sometimes it even has a health bar, and it's floating in the middle of nowhere and never goes away.

Ive never seen that bug....

Although, on a similar note, I hate it when people who have jsut been revived still have the "dead" icon. Can be confusing when there is a big pile of corpses for you to res

LOL Meat Missiles!

How long does the drone last, and when it goes, it takes your IDS with it, no?

It doesnt matter - you can resupply yourself while they are deployed (well, IDS at least, not sure about the drone) so as soon as iy goes, you can prep another.

also a great combo is SD-8 Accipier + Pulse meter + IDS + a gun. The Pulse meter practically acts as a trigger for he gun drone

Yes you can resupply yourself with both while your hovering scanner is following you around. You just can't redeploy your otus with one active in the air (dur) and if you throw down another IDS the one on your Otus will go inactive.

I'm leery about using the Accipier for anything aside from popup recon with ladder/stairs (its above you so it'll spot/shoot at hostiles before you reach the landing).

i am and experienced support maniac. as u can see im ranked 3rd in the usa and 10th in the world with a bianchi. heres a tip almost 90% of the time if u go up against a voss or krylov in close combat u will die. make sure u keep some distance away from those assualt guns if u have a bianchi or shuko. i cant really help anyone with the shotgun or ganz. and make sure u resuuply ur teammates oftenly!

oh yeah also. when the enemy is far away dont prone and start shooting if ur moving, just crouch. i usually only prone when im camping or when there is someone rite in front of u when the range is like 2meters or less

Re: Support Kit 101

I've been itching to play support, but unfortunately the TG servers are waaay to laggy. Any Southern Californian servers that you guys play on that I can practice using support?

Whenever I try to play support on most pubs, I get one of the following;

The SL knows what he's doing (extremely rare, like seeing a unicorn), and knows that everyone is going to be doing everything but support, so he plays support so it's not necessary for me to do so.

Nobody knows what they're doing (very common, like seeing cars in Los Angeles), and the squad is all over the map, so I'm holding an ammo box with no one to support since they keep scooting all over the place with out a central goal. One time I kept requesting orders, and the SL typed back, "kill." So I end up going sniper because everyone is lone-wolfing anyways.

Bagheera, if you're in sothern california, look into getting GameRail. It basically drops 75% of the network hops between you and the server, and TG has gamerail enabled servers. Ive talked to a couple friends of mine in LA who use gamerail to play here and have seen ping drops of over 100ms since they started using it.

Re: Support Kit 101

I actually played Support for a while on Gibraltar and have a new respect for the mowing capability of the Ganz. I had tried it before on Belgrade but it certainly seems better for me to use on smaller maps due to the lack of places for them to go.
