Re: What's the Deal With the Voss?

I used the Krylov a bunch last night. Is it just me or does the Krylov have a faster clip reload time than the Voss? It just seemed to me, that it didn't take as long to reload the clip.

That's it. I'm going to have to try the Krylov tonight and see what the hype is about.

the krylov is great, but it is a hassle that the buttons for revive/rockets are switched up.

Personally, I like the Krylov the most, followed by the Baur. The EU's primary standard is way too inaccurate at full-auto and has a deceiving "punch" to it by the way of the sounds it makes.

That is probably the most important comment you will see from an experience player over a casual player.

The reason why people think the Voss is overpowered is because of the 900 RoF (all AR except Baur have 900) and the 40 round clip (Scar/Krylov 30, Baur 20). This makes it a PERFECT weapon for noob 'spray and pray' players. You can litterally point the gun and blow out 40 bullets and expect a kill.

Using a Krylov is very similar to using the Voss, but if you SnP with that 30 round clip you'll find yourself short.

The Scar is just an ugly hunk of metal and the Baur is a heavier Scar with 10 less rounds. There's also the fact that the Scar does less damage over range than the Krylov that makes it one of the most mocked weapons out there.

An experienced sharpshooter can squeeze the most out of the Baur's 20 rounds or the Krylov's 30. A total noob will just see the 40 rounds and higher RoF and go for the Voss every time.

That said. I like the Voss and can't stand the Baur. PAC/Krylov and EU/Voss is such a nice setup.

I tend to go for the voss...

Kind of depressing when in compitition play with the 7th, everyone is saying, "Grab their kits, get the Krylov!" and I'm the only one standing there with my lovely voss.

Re: What's the Deal With the Voss?

I think one of the great advantages of the voss is the clip size, as after you've just killed 2 or 3 enemies, and you see another, you still have chance to take them down without having to reload, otherwise with the krylov/baur etc u run out of rounds quickly

Re: What's the Deal With the Voss?

Sure the Krylov has better accuracy... but according to some random sketchy website that I googled the "general" damage of the voss is 25 and the krylov is 27... and it also gives this info..
.................................................. ....Voss / Krylov
Shots to Kill Infantry (Head)...................2...........2
Shots to Kill Infantry (Light Torso)...........4...........4
Shots to Kill Infantry (Heavy Torso).........5...........5
Shots to Kill Infantry (Extremities)...........8...........8

So unless you are engaging someone who is wounded in the small range where the krylov 2 extra damage will make a difference the whole damage argument seems kinda fruitless (I know I'm oversimplifying this, crazy math person feel free to rip me apart with some extremity/light torso combination - but come on, most the time the extra krylov won't save yours and end his).

The accuracy of the krylov is significantly better, but you get 10 more chances to make a quality hit, or 2 or 3 more chances to line up the crosshairs and take a quick burst at that unsuspecting guy running in the near distance. Not to mention the advantage of the extra 10 rounds when facing multiple enemies (such as on the TG server where very few roam alone). In my opinion the accuracy advantage would best be shown when shooting at a sedentary target when you have time to line up a good shot, but in the heat of the battle I don't find myself patiently aiming, I figure the guns guess is as good as mine (if the target doesn't move I'm switching to rockets anyhow).

I don't see how the krylov can be considered definitively better than the voss. They are at least about equal in effectiveness depending on how you chose to use them. But since the krylov sounds fruity when you fire it, the voss is the sure choice.

P.S. I just looked at a sample of 5 people who posted in this thread boasting krylov superiority, however all of their accuracies were higher with the voss.

That's because we all used to be hardcore voss whores.

These stats are off. Legs and arms deal more damage then the torso.

Again, these thoughts derive from our time in TGL. The Voss sounds better on paper, but in practice, the Krylov serves me better. I (opinion hat ON) think that the Krylov is able to put more of the bullets in a long burst into the same area, while the Voss seems to have more recoil doing the same thing (opinion hat OFF).

Everyone is welcome to use whatever weapons they want, though.

Re: What's the Deal With the Voss?

Accuracy is second only to ROF. What's it matter if the Voss has about the same damage if even one fewer shot hits?
