What's the Deal With the Voss?
Why is it that people get so angry about players using the Voss? It seems like this weapon is constantly being "discussed" on other forums by many who feel that it is some kind of overpowered super-weapon.
While the Voss is my favorite assault weapon, I just don't agree with the the arguments I read against it.
So, what do people think about the Voss here? Should I accept the all the "overpowered" hype and refuse to use that weapon out of honor, as so many claim to do on other forums, or do all of those anti-Voss people just not know what they are doing?

The Voss was the first weapon I ever unlocked. The way it looks, its the only weapon I'll ever use. Those people obviously dont know what there talking about. Just rock out with your Voss out!

People that claim the Voss is "overpowered" just need to practice more. I once thought the Voss would solve my problems. It seemed like I was always getting killed by a Voss user. Once I unlocked the Voss, I found that it was just me. I think the love of the Voss comes from the large clip size. But that large clip doesn't help if you can't put the bullets on the mark. Accuracy is key.

I prefer the Baur over the Voss. With a steady hand the Baur can be a very accurate weapon at medium to long range if shot in two bullet bursts and very effective in short range combat as well. The recoil is a bit more but I can fight against that easier now that I have upgraded my mouse. If you are reading the EA forums than I don't have to point out the fact that they complain more than my two sisters, girlfriend and mother put together and don't have much content in their complaints.

Hmm, I actually think the Voss is underpowered. It just doesn't have the punch the Baur does.

Now, since I don't have game up I'm going to see how good my memory is. The Voss is the L-AR, yes? And the Baur is the H-AR? If my memory isn't bad, then here's what I think:
The Voss' large clip makes up for the smaller amount of damage done per round, while the Baur's smaller clip equalizes for the larger amount of damage done per round. I've been killed by both guns almost equally, so I'd agree with everyone else that it's a matter of accuracy over power or punch.

Its pretty simple WHY the Voss is good:
- 900 Rate of Fire (compared to 600 of Baur) makes it kill faster than a Baur in Close Quater Combat.
- Clip of 40
....but often people overlook the Krylov!
- 900 rate of fire
- slightly more accurate than Voss
- slightly more punch than a Voss
Actually the Krylov has the best stats of all the Assault guns - yet people still wine about the Voss
The only BIG backdraw of the Krylov is teh Rocket Reload animation is the LONGEST of all Assault guns.

Yeah, I've been rocking the Krylov again recently. I usually stick with Voss on EU and go Krylov on PAC. Larger maps I'll probably bring the Baur or be engineer.
The Voss is a great weapon, but all the others are just as good in the right hands.

having never really used the krylov i am now using it again during promod matches and am finding it pretty effective.

The Voss packs so much punch at spitting distance it seems super. I generally use the Baur, but switch to the Voss if we are in tight areas. Nice thing about the Voss is you can kill 3 people without a reload without too much difficulty if you catch them unaware and just spray centre mass into them. The big problem with the Baur I have is, shoot, run, reload, hide, shoot, run,reload, hide, shoot...

now what i don't like about the whole discussion on the assault weapons is how the Scar is always left out. My favorite gun is easily the Krylov, but i have moved more and more towards using the Scar whenever i play as the EU. It packs tons of punch, and has less recoil than the Baur, and a larger clip than the Baur. Overall, a great but under used and underrated weapon.

I got used to the Buar. I love the long range shots it makes. The bullets do far more damage then any. 3 hits on heavy armor to drop a guy.
the thing I hate about the Voss is the normal sight. It blocks out the entire right side in sight view.The soldier formerly known as, Eroak.
