    Yep, thats what I heard Bom say over TS once. The thought process is that it is already engaged in combat.

    Last night Guardian and I had our best rounds yet, only got shot down like 3 or 4times total between PAC and EU rounds, and half of them were from SAAW missiles that we shielded from but still hit us. At first I thought it was bad to let out all these "secrets," like Eroak said, but now its a more fun challenge!

    Aye, dont use hover. keep repeatly tabbing your thrust key. the more you tab the more you climb strait up. So on strafing you can have better control on your side to side movements. Thats the trick to keeping alive while farming soft targets.

    Yes, any target that has fired in the UCB or not is fair game. Including if they flee to the UCB. But remeber only that target is fair game and once your target is destroyed, to leave right away. This isn't baseball with safe bases

    I don't use hover unless I am landing to get repairs, and that is rare XD

    Anospa's definition of a "best round" is killing me and pedestrian 100 times.

    Again off topic, but the teamwork on your servers is brilliant! It's like playing on a public scrim!
    It makes me second guess my clan, which it stinks since I am pretty much the only regular 2142 player.

    Yeah, just dont put a dancing disco monkey in your signature.

    On the topic of tactics though, something that a lot of pilots dont utilize enough is low level hovering. There are several maps where this can be of significant use, and with the addition of the titan server, its going to become moreso.

    Most pilots simply buzz around the map at mach 5 looking for other gunships and the occasional tank to shoot. But sometimes your best friend is the ambush. A lot of times, you can hug the edge of the map right near a stand of trees at about 10 feet off the deck and just rack up kills. See a tank roll out of the UCB, blast him. See a gunship take off, you can either fire from over, if youre in range, or wait until he blows past then throttle up and roll some rockets up his tailpipe. The last part is the most significant, as most gunship pilots are scanning the sky when they lift off, so being low to the ground and in decent cover will keep you from being noticed. I managed to take out 3 gunship crews in one round from the exact same spot on Verdun, in addition to a couple tanks and an apc. The gunship shouldnt just be used for strafe and run.

    Generally, I'll prioritize targets, gunship being first thing to take down to get it off my back, and then go where the team needs it most. On larger maps/Pubs, I'm just zipping around taking out as much stuff as possible.

    I hate gravity, EMPs and the fact that the SAAW is good now.

    If I can add another tactic, (on a titan map) I never go for the titan at the start, especially on pub servers where the other pilot will for sure go to your titan and try to blow up the titan guns on the bottom. I usually just get in w/ my friend and go to the left or right and wait a couple seconds for the noob pilot to try and rack up points, then I show him who's boss and own him

    I (unless I know that there aren't any other gunships in the air) make gunships #1 in my hit list.
    Other then that I try to avoid walkers and go for APC's. If there is a tank and a APC I usually go for the apc since they can EMP you if you go for the tank, making it easy prey for the tank.

    EMPs are on the top of my hate list, then SAAWs, and finally light posts that pop out of nowhere (although I normally do not fly low to the ground)
