I dont play with music simply because it takes away from my ability to communicate effectively with my squad. Plus, Half the time, hearing something in battle gives you a clue as to where its coming from before it actually rains death on you.

Negative on the music. Between TS, VOIP, and Game sounds I don't really need anything else added into the mix.

I turn the music way down, almost but not quite off...

Meh, the screams and explosions and generally the sounds of death and carnage do it for me all by themselves...

Knowing where those pesky enemies are shooting from is too much of a benefit to lose it by having music on. Plus I would hate to get knifed or have my vehicle RDXed because I couldn't hear the someone making the knife swing sound or coming out form being cloaked.

Yea Tried it once was soaked in sweat from stress - but I play with headphones - I am going to try my home stereo on - but the carnage is music to my ears too!

I think he means music from other sources, not the music in game Lorax.

Other types of games I sometimes do, but this game I rely so much on my hearing, wouldn't want to have anything else.

I tend to play some music in the background since I too have headphones. It usually doesn't make a problem.
But when I am whoring a gunship on a pub server then I will sometimes play music, since no-one uses Voip to be a team player (lol).

Ditto with Pablo. Sometimes, in particular situations, you get a verbal warning of something happening before it does... like a cloak switching off or a knife being drawn. In those instances, having no distracting noise/music is a major benefit.

In general I don't play with music because I try to focus solely on the game, seeking that Zen moment where everything just clicks right(and those 17 knife kills IAR which will be impossible in the TG server). Plus, with the size of my playlist, not all music fits the feel of 2142. Flight of the Valkyries when flying -- good. FotV when running on the ground -- bad.

Just head to a small pub server for those types of badges. I found a 20 person Cerebere server for Knife and Pistol badges, got them one round after the other.

I used to play with music on but the communication in the squad is important so I no longer do it. In fact, it's so quiet in my office I am told that the birds outside can be heard in teamspeak when my window is open.

Haha, yeah, that was kinda funny the other day. I wonder what the 3rd would hear if it weren't for my air conditioner...
