Re: Herzog vs. PK-74

I believe the shotgun draw time is split second if you were firing your AR at the time. If you're switching from pistol to shotgun then you're going to have the same draw time as drawing your AR. But AR to shotgun is pretty smooth since they're on the same piece. That's what made the shotgun such a handy 'oh crap I'm out of ammo' emergency weapon on titans for me in the past. The spread is large enough to cover the whole hallway if shot at a decent distance and you can switch from AR to shotgun very quickly if you're out.

...of course then you have to reload both which is a PITA.

Dunno my further testing never left single player because I was so horrible with it - I did gather up some nice 1 shot head shot kills - poor bots - Im not sold on the Herzog > PK Rockets.

I haven't really tried the herzog except when I first unlocked it. I find the ability to put rockets on corpses is a much more effective way to kill whore, cause any good player will try and revive a teammate and then it's free kill time. I might try it a little tonight though as I tend to take point and cause a little chaos.

Kill wise, they go any way depending how you play. Both are a defensive assault weapon. The Rockets can kill the enemy before they get to you, and the Herzog can give you the extra gun when your reloading and the enemy is in your face.

Now take toll station for example: Pac will sit outside of it shelling it with rockets, EU will return shells at them with rockets. Though that hurts ticket count your not on or moving to a back flag. If you were to run through, probably running into 4-5 guys your AR/Herzog can take them all out and you can proceed to the backflag. BUT it was up to the Rockets thinning and injuring the enemy. So if you like killing people from far away get rockets, if you like killing people in their face get a Herzog. (If you go both ways, pick one for the situation!)
Same thing goes with MCG's and the Clark!

Re: Herzog vs. PK-74

Am I the only one who can't hit anything with the shotgun or has it got to do with latencies? There are times when I am so sure I hit them directly with the whole circle but no. Apparently they are actually 6 feet to the left with my dogtags. This might be why I like rockets more. I can actually kill things with them.

Re: Herzog vs. PK-74

I find myself playing with the herzog more and more due to me using the baur lately. with such a small clip, it is nice to have a shotty to pull out when people think your out of ammo. there are usually enough rockets around that one medic with a shotty is worth it. it requres a different playstyle. I am used to supressing fire using rockets. without them, I find that I have to take cover more and at a bit more sneaky. this is also partly due to me playing with baur lately.

Re: Herzog vs. PK-74

I find both handy, but do use rockets more. It depends on the map and how the action is. Sometimes it's so thick that I find myself too close 90% of the time for rockets - and then it's Herzog time. I think it's underrated here, it gives you that extra power so that you can mow through the remainder of the enemy squad CQB while others die reloading. Then revive your squad mates for the cap.

Love and hate the Rockets too. With the NS unlock it's almost ridiculous how many you can take out with those things. Also like to add that the Herzog is MUCH more useful with the NS unlock. One shot kills aren't so common (unlike the Clark). 4 shots is almost 2 guaranteed kills if your connection is good.
