Air Combat Theory 101
>> TGU has released a required reading and understanding module for anyone intrested in basic and advanced flight modules. << Battlefield 2142 Flight Modules are still in the works and not finalized as of today. This gives you some time to read over and practice the tactics lined out. Also give you time to clear up any questions of the thoery class. TGU Air Combat Theory Thread

Re: Air Combat Theory 101
The first and only rule of air combat. Avoid light poles, or get a gunship made from lightpoles. You'll NEVER DIE!!!

Re: Air Combat Theory 101
Like how to use inverted and near-inverted flight to your advantage? Or how to be a really hard target to hit?

Re: Air Combat Theory 101
If you have an enemy on your tail:
1) Go straight up to about 500 2) Pull back so you are inverted and level with the ground. 3) Fly for about 5 - 10 seconds inverted and level with the ground. 4) Finish the flip 5) Come back on the guy who if he is like 95% of the pilots out there will be doing circles trying to figure out where you went. Reason this works: Most people see a craft start a flip, and think they are going to immediately finish it. If you stop halfway, get some distance, and come back, you can most likely catch them off guard. Also, at the higher altitudes (400 - 600) the enemy is black against the fog, making them easy to see. |
