Re: New Strategy - RUN AWAY!!!
In gunship fights, I've successfully used the correct "running away," tactic more and more frequently as of late. Unfortunately, I've gone to the wrong Titan once or twice. Always makes things a bit more interesting if you can't find your attacker and go to their home base!

Re: New Strategy - RUN AWAY!!!
This is the attitude I expect from all squad members. Yes, you're outgunned, but get the damn job done!

Re: New Strategy - RUN AWAY!!!
I SL'ed 2 rounds of Tunis yesterday afternoon and our squad was tasked with "covering the boat". Some times that meant crossing it, and sometimes that meant standing on one side and defending it.
What I like to do as SL is a quick push of offensive aggression followed by a short fall back to see were the chips land. Then we can push again if things look like they are prograssing nicely or pull back a little more if we are overwhelmed.
Also, cheers to ultraBlue yesterday afternoon. You did a great job as CO. You kept me very informed which helped me keep my guys alive giving us #1 squad two rounds in a row.

hey ice, What you're describing isn't a retreat... you should never retreat. If anything, you are withdrawing, waiting for support. Never Retreat.

Re: New Strategy - RUN AWAY!!!
I'm beginning to find that charging blindly around corners is a good way of getting yourself shot. Usually I can get the point man but his buddies are right there waiting with Defibs and a Voss up my nose. Perhaps a series of staggered rush/retreat to reload/heal repeat would do better. I'll try it more often but this charge headlong mentality that I've picked up from CSS and TF are not doing me any good =/

Re: New Strategy - RUN AWAY!!!
if an attack looks like it is failing because a few guys keep dying without revives, look at your attack, regroup and try something different. those are real people you are playing against. they are not dumb, if you try the same thing twice, they will be expecting it. use that to your advantage.
say 4 of your guys go down including yourself. tell your guys that are alive to hold position and reatreat as needed. meanwile you spawn in with the rest of your squad and attack from a flanking position.
voip coms and a heads up squad are critical to make something like this work.
I almost never give up on an objective because I am usually going after an objective that I feel needs to be won to win the game.
chack your minimap to time your assaults, have your guys conserve sprint, and lay down supresive fire for a min or two, then, start taking back ground inch by inch.
