Which Engineer weapon do you prefer? - Page 2

I always use the Pilum. Either because I like it a lot, or because I've gotten too used to assigning it to my kit every time I go Engineer... I can't remember

Depends on what I'm engaging and the situation. If I need to follow something, then I go with rockets. If I know my target doesn't move much, I'll go with the Pilum.

Medium/Long range armor hunting I'll go with the default rockets. You can't get a clear bead with the Pilium at great distances and the 'I can hit the weak spot without tone' reason doesn't work when you're being shelled from 75+ yards away without a snowball's chance in hell of hitting anything except the heavy armor.

Short/Medium anti-armor defensives I go with the pilium because if armor is cruising into your blockade you're going to be able to get that 'sweet shot' off eventually.

If I'm driving armor though I'll sometimes take the SAAW to give my armor a bit more anti-air. Nothing like a hotshot gunship crew thinking your tank will be easy picking only to take 2 SAAW rockets and go down a flaming wreck.

I love the SMG. Some of my best rounds have been engineer on Cerbere landing. The close quarters and constant buggy rushes rule!!

I have the BR file of a good engineer run I had on Fall of Berlin... I was thinking of making a movie out of it, but I am lazy.

I don't know why but I find the PAC SMG so much better than the EU one, somebody told me they are statistically the same but I find I do much better with the PAC one, must be a mental thing.

prefer pilum or saw. I never have the time to stand there and guide the missile. I like to pop up like some angry gopher, let one fly, and then disappear. Over time I have learned to predict vehicle movement pretty well. I suck at steering the standard engy rockets anyway.

Usually I use the Pilum, but lately I've gone back a bit to the traditional rockets. Main reason- You can guide them to kill infantry much more easily and they can be used to shoot vehicles you can't see over ridges or whatnot. Plus, they're easier to hit moving aircraft with

I use the Pilum for short range and Defaults for long range like most other people. As far as the SMG's go I prefer the EU SMG. The PAC SMG seems weak and inaccurate, even though there isn't much of a difference between them.

well for me its always fun to jump out of my pilumed gunship and go hunt down they guy who destroyed my bird, main weapon of use if capable: knife, who needs the SMG anyways?

also everyone who is saying that they kill infantry with the guided rockets are shooting the wrong targets, they arnt called Anti-Vehicle rockets for nothing, yes its fun but mowing an assault down with you SMG or even a support is more fun

I go pilum all the way. I actually haven't used the default rockets once since I unlocked the Pilum and that was my first upgraded gun of the game.

I actually have taken down many medics with this little gem only to have them get very flustered and type some expletive at me over chat as I squat over their corpse...repeatedly.
