Discussion: Battlefield 2142 / Battlefield 2142 - Tactics and Missions Discussion - Next TG Titan Scrim - Has another been arranged yet? if not i'd be willing to help set a few
I've been talking to a few guys in the 3rd about doing another and what they felt could have been done better, what was good. I can definitely use help! Although, I'm gonna approach this one a bit better and get it done faster. Last time, we had a scrim in the BF2 community, so we were delayed a few weeks.
But, let's use this thread as a discussion for what you, the average TG BF2142 player would like to see!
Just wondering, but what are the rules for titan? Can the commanders move the titans? Are you allowed to hop into enemy APCs in their base to pod onto the enemy titan?
Id prefer it if moving is allowed, otherwise the you are forced to rely on a vehicle to get you to most silos.

I would love to see both titan and conquest internal scrims again. I will gladly participate in both. Help out where I can also. It would also be interesting to see an internal scrim with IHS's vs non-IHS. Although the non-IHS would probably get beat, it would still, be fun......in my opinion.

Definitely--the simple fact that members of an IHS have practiced certain tactics together makes that quite a bit unbalanced. But to make it more fair, just make the members of IHS's squad up and have the non-IHS-members form their own squads on each team with the option of practicing together beforehand. Then you could look at the individual squad scores for your IHS vs. non-IHS stats and not worry so much about an unbalanced game.

Not to mention shooting drills, assaults on flags, defensive positions on flags, communication, etc etc. I wouldn't like to see this type of scrim either. I would like to see a scrim that has an equal IHS member to non-IHS member ratio and the squads are mixed.
Ya you could make it mandatory for squads to be half ihs half ihs, probably with ihs squad leads. That would help teach some of the non-ihs players, while also being a fun and hopefully balanced match.

Hell, I know of at least a couple non-IHS-members who are very good squad leaders themselves. Why limit SLing to IHS members? And know of at least one who's pretty good at commanding...*cough*drac*cough*

well I have seen some none ihs squad leads who aren't bad but they aren't in abundance. I will also say drac is a good commander, he's very good at keeping his squads up to date on the weather.
I rather keep full IHS squads. Not to say that IHS squad members are “too good” to play with other TG members, it’s the fact that scrims are suppose to be an organized event. Why would you take an organized squad into an organized event and split them in to random squads? That is not very organized.
There’s more sense of accomplishment when an in-house squad completes objectives over a random mix-match squad. In the first scrim I played on TG (The Careber Landing scrim), I was in the Irregulars. After we won we had a post in the irregular forums showing how we represented the Irregulars in the scrim, all the other members who didn’t get to play, or who don’t play 2142, congratulated us on representing the Irregulars. Other IHSs realized the talent in the Irregulars who played and I believe all of us are now in IHSs because of it (probably one of the reasons why the 7th recruited me). If the IHSs are all randomly distributed then you can’t go back with the same feeling cause some of you won, some of you lost, some completed objectives others did not. It’s just not the same.
Just my opinions on the matter. I love internal scrims, but I rather play with HIS intact (not to say I didn’t have fun on the Titan scrim, just not the same level of satisfaction).
Can I request that if you do a scrim you do it on the titan server? Last scrim that was done (to my knowledge) used the conquest server. For those of us not involved in it (myself and a few others that I know of) it pretty much killed our bf2142 night (there is no such thing as a non-tg server in my books) as the titan server never really filled up and the conquest server was well... locked.
Good pooint Zoopy! The IHS should stay together, it can be frustrating for the SL that is used to certain things and then have to deal with an "outsider" who isn't. IHS practice and work together so that they know what the other player is thingking, what to do in certain situations, etc. They practice for that.
The point of the scrims is to have fun and the way they have been organized in the past has provied lots of fun. Keep 'em coming!

It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:
