Drop motionmines at Walker spawn (Belgrade)
Just a thought.
Has anyone ever had one of their squadmembers drop motion mines under the walker spawn during a rush for Statue? I can't count the times that one side will capture Statue, and then have someone from the other team steal the walker and take statue for themselves. Solution to this: Have one engineer in your squad drop 2 motion mines under the walker spawn as the rest of the squad continues for statue. If you're PAC, bring two engineers. One to possibly steal the walker (if statue is already taken). This engineer will bring motionmine bait so that he can counter any motion mines lying around. If the flag is not taken already, then have the first engineer drop motion mines and wait for the walker to spawn. The second engineer will push ahead and drop mines at the EU entrance. If your EU, have one engineer push forward to drop two mines at the walker spawn, and then the rest on the northern ramp. If there are already PAC motion mine's laid, then it's probably too late anyway. best thing to do is drop motionmine bait, and try to take the walker yourself and help your teammates.

oh, no, not on the spawn, i meant "at" the spawn. As in, near it so it is still in range of the walker so it will activate when someone jumps in...unless it destroys all of them in the area...

Well right off the start of the round, throwing two mines by the walker and a couple on the main ramp (only need two to kill the walker) by default. But during the round, you'll be constantly pressured from other armour that spawns faster that your motion mines may be better suited in other areas (assuming you have only one engineer). Best bet would be two mines at the top of the ramp, two mines on the North building alley. and one by the walker spawn.

If they are dropped at the sown, there is a chance they won't activate for any vehicles coming up the ramp. If you were to place them a little closer top the Ground Def gun, then the motion mines are covering two vantage points.

A bit off topic: On Berlin, set a beacon by the Rorsch at Crossroads close to that building. Spin the pod when you're falling down, run to the other (east) side of the building and drop motion mines below. From there, you are completely free target either the main road (east-west) or any part of the passageway around that building without fear of being decimated by the armor that is coming toward you. The worst part in setting motion mines is getting killed when you're halfway done.
Back on topic: I don't think it's a very useful strategy. Send an Assault Medic toward the walker spawn. Majority of people who go for the walker are Engineers and you can take them down if it comes down to a firefight on who's going to own the walker. Dropping motion mines decreases your spatial awareness (making you more likely to get killed by a pistol) and wastes time. It's a defensive strategy when you really ought to be very offensive: you are rushing the flag and you are rushing the walker. You're not defending either at that point.

How about get a guy with a Clarky and tell him to wait behind where the walker spawns. If an enemy comes to get it he gets Clarked. If the walker spawns he can a) get it or b) if an enemy get into it first, shoot the grill on the bottom of it until it blows up. (it works, I have destroyed walkers with a VOSS by shooting the panels!). Or even easier, get an engy to put EMP mines, when the guy gets in he gets emped enabling your guys to run underneath and shoot into the grills, blowing it up.

when i am the one tasked with getting the walker, i usually drop mines on to the ramp as i'm waiting for the walker to spawn. when a squad is going for the flag, it will usually turn very quickly, hardly have enough time to drop the mines on the ramp. Also, don't go on to the ramp to drop them, just stand near the railing and drop to throw them over the rail. land them right in front of the truck-things sitting there to hid them.

I usually put 3 motion mines directly in front of the walker spawn while the rest of my squad is capping the flag. It seems opfor will come into statue just for the walker.
