Discussion: Battlefield 2142 / Battlefield 2142 - Tactics and Missions Discussion - Titan Scrim Questions - Even though I've been here a while, (making high profile, bad impressions) I'm still not
Even though I've been here a while, (making high profile, bad impressions) I'm still not sure about Titan Scrims. I did ask this question on another thread, which wasn't answered, and I thought it would be useful to people like me who do not know much about scrims, to ask their own questions.
Well I have been very eager to participate in scrims...but 2 things hold me back.
1. Titan maps. I'm fine with titan mode, but if you're using the Northern strike maps, that keeps me out.
2. Player amount. Will there be 52 players? I just need clarification, because if so, I wouldn't be able to participate (overseas lag). But I think it's 32? 32 when overseas gives me endurable lag, especially if its a conquest map, for once I'll be able to shoot straight on a TG server, .
1. We have not used Northern Strike maps in a scrim yet, odds are we will not unless the scrim is setup to be a "Northern Strike" scrim.
2. Titan requires a higher player count to play well. I don't recall the exact count we had last time, but it seemed to be the perfect amount of people and very little, if any, lag.
I'll see if I can dig up the link to the last Titan scrim for more details.

Ok, cool, thanks for the help, but just one more question. How long do scrims last roughly? Because 9:00pm my time is 1:00am, so I'd be pretty tired, not to mention my speech would be slurred to the point of me sounding like a drunk with rabies...but if it were to last like four hours, then by the end I'd be sleep-talking, and I don't think that's one of the SOPs...So roughly how many rounds and maps is it? Even though a limitation already seems to be appearing, 48 will challenge my computer, especially on titan mode. I can only just properly endure 48 players on squadplay, which is better for me as it is European based, and usually has smaller, conquest, less artillery maps. Even though I know your servers are very lag free, people from across the pond don't have as good a connection. Or maybe its just me, because you have European IHS's...I dunno, .
(P.S. only reason I haven't become a supporting member, is because I can't play with a proper connection on your servers, otherwise I would definitely become a member.)
There's no stigma attached to not being a supporting member here. Being a part of the community is more important. Take a look at the irregulars, many of them are not SM's, and the place wouldn't be the same without them!
You know you guys are the best, thanks for this Euro-Friendly time, .
Just letting you guys know in advance, if I manage to get in to the scrim, think of me as a rubbish player, as I will probably be laggy as hell ( for me, I know its not a laggy server, I'm just weird), but I think it will be a cool experience.
Eight months later I finally received the reports from three peer-reviews on my latest manuscript with the University of Toronto Press. This will be my third book with the same press and the second...

Rage makes a great case for using the VR as a place for training as a sniper. Virtual training rooms for training in virtual warfare.

Bravo Microsoft, you have now surpassed EA in poor decisions and once and for all seized the crown for the worst 'Reveal' ever. That EA were standing there on the stage with you when you did it was...
