I just bought Northern Strike using EA downloader. It downloaded and installed fine but now when I try to join the TG (or any) NS server it tells me that
'That action requires purchase and installation on the Northern Strike booster pack from EA link. Click here to go to EA link'
I find this a bit dumb seeing as a)EA link doesn't exist anymore and b)I have purchased, downloaded and installed NS and when I open EA downloader it says 'Battlefield 2142 Northern Strike Booster pack installed.

So, has anyone else heard of this problem? Is there anything I have to do to activate the installation or somehow get it to work? I bought it because I had been thinking of it for a long time and the Conquest server is empty, so I was very annoyed when I was told I need to install something I already have.

I had this problem too. Reinstalling worked for me.

Do you mean reinstall NS or the whole of 2142? In EA download manager it says NS installed and the install button is greyed out.

I have tried a reinstall, deleting mozilla and downgrading Internet explorer per EA tech support, And still i can't get my F****** Crysis DEMO! I mean my install button is grayed out Man i wish ea link would come back

No way! EA link sucked! EA downloader was the best, but when they changed to EA link it went downhill, it didn't even work on my PC. Just froze up and said 'not responding'. The worst thing that EA have done is to make that 6 month thingy where you have to pay to download something you've already paid for if you paid over 6 months ago. Just a mean way to make some more cash.

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling 2142, repatching up to 1.25 and installing NS again. Still no luck. Do I have to patch after I install NS?

The way I did it was to download and install NS. I then re-installed the 1.25 patch (2142 was already at 1.25). That seemed to work for me.

Nope, repatched 1.25 and still am told I need NS to play when I already have NS. I'm gonna look up more on this problem.

I've had this happen to me before as well. You may need to fully uninstall Northern Strike and 2142, reinstall 2412, patch, resinstall NS, patch and that should resolve this issue. If it does not, let us know and we'll dig through the forums for the proper method to remove all traces of 2142, which may be what is ultimately required.

Still no luck. I have uninstalled EA download manager and 2142. I then deleted anything left over in the 2142 section of my computer. I reinstalled 2142, patched to 1.20, reinstalled EA download manager and NS, and patched to 1.25. It still tells me I need to install NS. I doubt it would have happened if EA had released NS as a download or on a disk, but I'm sure I'm not the first to have said that. I'm gonna try and message EA if this carries on.
