Slow Motion 2142

Okay, this is a wierd one. I'm at a friend's house (who has a much much better ping than I do, 20-30 vs. 120-200), and I log on to play, and the ping SEEMS worse when I'm online, but something doesn't seem right, such as when I go to zoom, it takes longer to zoom. So, I decide to play a single player game to see what's up. So, what happens?

Everything is running in slo-mo at a damn high framerate (100 or so.) I typically play at 50-60 solo, and 40ish online. The menu screen also runs slow, but smooth. So, when I play, it's like the Matrix scenes, I feel like I'm dodging bullets, and with bots I'm able to dance around them as they're wielding guns (I'm also in slo-mo like everyone else) and knifing them. Gosh I felt so Keaunu Reeves. I timed the death screen (from 10 seconds) and it took me approximately 30 seconds real time, from the 10 second timer on screen, which leads me to believe that we're at a 3-1 time ratio here. It was bizarre.

Anyone else experience this?

I sometimes experience weird things similar to this if I run FRAPS and run out of disk space. Everything including everyones voices on VOIP slows down. Were you recording with FRAPS?

Did you take the Red pill or the Blue pill?

It's your brain processes speeding up as you experience a near-death-experience as the total awesomeness of his system overwhelms you...

I'm still working on making time seem to slow down. So far i've only been successful in making the days and months longer. Now if only i can give myself more time on tests....

Update:

Playing the next day, and everything is working fine. All the servers that were pinging at 20-30 were actually pinging at 50-60 today. I think the slowness of the game was freaking out the ping reading. Yes, I had fraps on, but only to read the FPS.

2142 is the blue pill. Life and doing something beyond it is the red pill.

If FRAPS was on then that is most likely your culprit. Like I said before I have experienced similar occurances after FRAPSing too much or when I didn't even realize I had accidentally turned it on and was filling my hard drive fast.
