Denied 2142 on version basis

Ok, i've been having this problem for awhile but I just decided to post about it somewhere now, and i've googled it and all that, and the fixes they offered didn't seem to work.

The problem is this:

Whenever I try to load up a NS map (and I have NS), it tells me that the server only accepts players with unmodified BF2142 content, and that I should update to the latest patch to play. Well, I did this, and still the same error. I went back and patched to 1.20, then 1.25. Nada. Tonight, as in about 10 minutes ago, I got the same error...for Verdun (On the TG 16 people server).

I am currently reinstalling the patch I was on that worked before, and hope it will work this time. Any suggestions and or fixes would be much appreciated.

The typical fix for this is to uninstall 2142 completely, then reinstall in the following order:

1) Battlefield 2142
2) Patch 1.25
3) Northern Strike
4) Patch 1.25 again.

That should resolve it. If it does not than you will need to remove all traces of 2142 and repeat the above. I had to do this 3 times in one week, very frustrating.

Lorax has it right. If you are having this problem which is usually just a NS issue on non NS maps, it sounds like it may be time to uninstall reinstall unfortunatly. Best of luck.

Now its saying I have modified content and should REVERT to the latest official patch. Ugh.

Did you follow the steps as outlined above? If so, you will need to uninstall and remove all traces that 2142 was ever installed on your computer. I'll gladly hunt the steps to this process down for you should you require them (it's posted in here somewhere

).

Try also deleting the radial file thats talked about in that thread.

Did everything, but now everytime I try to patch to 1.25 (or any other patch), it says the updating has failed (and this is on a fresh install). Going to restart my computer and try repatching.

Update: Nope, still getting the "Failed to update" error. I installed it on the laptop (not mine, dont have access to it often) and it works fine, was playing earlier, cept for some issues lag wise (due to brother using internet). We'll see what happens I suppose.

I say for the time being, play NS on the other computer until this problem is fixed.

Its not just northern strike, its ALL servers playing any maps. And unfortunately the other computer isn't up to specs (Major FPS issues). Oh well. I'll keep trying stuff, thanks for your help guys.

Actually, I had a brain storm on the wya home. Im going to revert my computer back to how it was on sunday/monday when I had no issue. If it still screws up that tells me something is very very wrong.
